Here's my contribution finally. Just picked up the optic, it's a 3x30 ACOG with the green horseshoe. It's sitting to high, if I can't lower it then I may sell it.

They do make lower mounts but I'm not sure if I want to do that. I'm not sure it would be low enough, I never realized how high the beryl rail is until now.
Possibly a bad choice on my end, but the scope rocks!

Build thread? I may do the same thing to my Tantal kit that is coming in tomorrow, but was wondering how to go about it. Did you mill the rail slots yourself?

I did not photo documented the process, but I did mill out the rail slots, etc.
Not terribly hard to do. I used a GM tantal barrel also. Just screwed the flash hider
over the protruding muzzle.

It's a pretty sweet shooter out of the box! I was getting a little more than half inch 5 shot groups at 50 yards on irons, prone off an ammo box, xm193 ... I'll take it out further next time as the cows were out and I was backed up as far as I could go. Windage was right on though!

My nephew who has a sig m400 was pretty impressed himself, then after dumping mags out of the Maadi at different reactive vegetables and jugs. He went home and lay awayed himself a WASR!

How does the Archer's RSB and dust cover compare to a standard AK's? Are the Sabrewerks KOP or TWS dogleg options?

Just got one today. I'll take it to the range this weekend. No sling, cleaning rod or cleaning kit. The lower hand guard has a hole for a cleaning rod, but it would be blocked by the square metal protrusion below the gas block, which doesn't have a hole drilled through it. Boresnake it is. It probably wouldn't mount a bayonet either, but that's ok. Looks like a tack driver.

Just finished cleaning and lubing it. I bought it on gunbroker and it came with a bunch of mags and extra goodies. The guy claims he shot it but never cleaned it. I had planned on cleaning it and lubing it anyway, but was surprised that the seller had neglected to do either. It still had small metal shavings in the receiver from opening up the magwell, no lube on the rails or anywhere else. But the surprise came when I went to reassemble it. the bolt carrier wouldn't go in, with or without the bolt. The culprit was that the crappy I.O. FCG hammer was riding up too high. I pushed it down with a screwdriver and reassembled it. If I charge it and ride the handle, it will hang up all by itself 3/4 of the way back. I could file down the hammer but will likely just throw in a new Tapco FCG after trying it out at the range. Other than that it seems great.

The takedown and reassembly are a bit more awkward than most AK's, such as both handguards come off at once. Its built tight and right.

Read the post previous to your own. Aside from the I.O. trigger, the rifle's fit and finish are superb. No gaps between components, canted sights or anything like that. It's one of the nicest rifles I now own.

One minor concern is the red dot returning to zero after taking off the rail to clean the rifle. It pivots on grooves in the front trunnion, but isn't attached there like on a Krinkov. So it came completely off, I cleaned and lubed the rifle and then put it back on. Due to the lack of permanent hinge on the front part, I hope it keeps a zero after each cleaning. I had to move the red dot back an inch on the to get the rail off because it was all the way to the front edge, so I'll have to sight it in again anyway.

The guy I bought it from told me on the phone that he could hit steel targets quickly at his range at quite a distance with it. He seemed to really like the trigger, but hadn't taken the rifle apart to lube or clean it, so he didn't know the hammer creates a reassembly problem. It's an easy fix with a Tapco FCG or some other FCG. I'll see what the local gun shop has this weekend. Any suggestions for a good FCG?

I took my rail off for the mean time as I have nothing to put on it for now... At some point I'll put a reflex on it though right now I've got an AR build that's been neglected for awhile I need to get started on. I'm pretty confident from what I've read that the rail will hold its zero.

Mine came with the G2 trigger and seems to have no issues with reassembly... If anything easier than I thought and easier than my Maadi s/a.

I took it to the range this Saturday afternoon but it was crowded full of idiots, so I didn't get a great test run yet. The rifle range was recently closed, due to some idiots shooting over the hill backstop into the countryside. So only the pistol range and shotgun range were open. No large caliber rifles are allowed on the pistol range, so I shot my pistol and a .22 rifle. A large group of guys were also on the pistol range, but I was being wary of them. Some had safety glasses atop their heads, others handled weapons on a cold range as their buddies shot, etc.

On the shotgun range I could hear both large and small calibers. Shotguns, rifles and pistols are allowed there. Finally the guys on the pistol range left. But then a grandpa and spoiled grandson came from the shotgun range to the pistol range. They had an old single action .22 pistol that the kid would load and wave in every direction. So I quickly moved to the shotgun range, but it was almost dusk.

The red dot on the Beryl was way off, so my first shots missed completely. I switched to iron sights in the channel under it and at least hit the target, but not in a tight pattern. The brass was flying in every direction. Upon close inspection of the brass, it had crushed necks and dents in the middle of some cases. I think that the FCG was causing drag and it was trying to stovepipe. It left faint vertical scratches on the dust cover where the shells ejected. It cycled every time but I only shot about fifty rounds and the light was going fast.

A guy came back to the empty pistol range and practiced. He had a new Sig 9mm Legion, which he let me try. Very nice trigger in both single and double action.

At home I took my rifle apart to clean it and looked closer at the FCG. I now think it is a Tapco. All I can see on the side of the hammer is 'something, Inc, USA" Somehow I previously thought it looked like something I.O. made up on their own, but then thought about the previous post by Mahdimadness76. It's a single-hook. The selector switch on the left side of the receiver hooks into the safety, but doesn't do anything. The safety lever itself has a right angle notch that fails to hold the rounded bolt carrier handle back, but could probably be made to do so with a Dremel. The face on the hammer shows a round dent where it hits the firing pin and a shiny area where the bolt rides over it. I will have to take it apart and see about filing down the hammer face to smooth it out. I can't see any other reason it rides so high. Not a big deal, but I don't have a vise here now, so it could take some time to file it carefully by hand. Another project to do. Maybe a good reason to buy a good vise too. Then I'll get the red dot roughly sighted in by comparing it to the iron sights before I go back to the range.

My brass hits the dust cover every once in awhile sending brass in completely different directions. I get a small dent in a few cases every once in awhile, nothing a sizing die won't take care of... I have a mini 14 too and that thing beats the ever living shit out of brass! So not too many worries about that.

If it's a g2 it should say g2 on the side of the trigger. My safety lever holds the bolt back but I shoot at my families farm so I don't have to worry about range officers, hence its pointless to be there.

You have a gen 3 if you have a selector switch, I'm not positive but I thought IO was using their own FCG's on gen 3's... But don't quote me. What year is yours?

Hope you get everything set, I love mine!

Mine is a 2013. The gun store didn't have any G2 FCGs yesterday. I'll take it apart and see what I have.

I'll try, all I have is a mini iPod right now and it's always a fight to get pictures on here.

What are looking for on the bolt?
