Tomac advises 168gr Canned Heat from Georgia Arms and he shoots some pretty impressive groups with it...Not too expensive either...Tell us about your M118..

Ok this M118 LR is Military .308 SNiper ammo....
it has a 173 grain Boat Tail Hollowpoint, (Sierra Matchking is what I am told it is but for the military) it is marked (LC 01) LC= Lake City Match 01 is the year manufactured. It is basically the Military version of Federal Gold Metal Match (so Im told), the bullet is 173 grain rather than 175 gr. http://www.impactguns.com/store/XM118.html here is a link to one of several places you can buy it. Tell me your thoughts Jamin thanks alot guys, I'll have to try some of that canned heat as well, I plan on trying alot of stuff to see how they shoot in my .308dragunov which should be here within a week!! yay! My first Dragunov.. no more shooting my friends! |

Wow! That stuff's pricey, nearly triple the cost of the 168gr Canned Heat I use! ($450/1,000rds = $9/box of 20). The only advantage I can see is that it should extend the maximum effective range a bit before the bullet goes transonic. Now, if they only made a Canned Heat 175gr match load...

60rds ordered, I'll shoot at 100m, 500m, 750m & 900m and see how it stacks up against the Canned Heat.
