My apologies if this was already covered at some point, but I have a question concerning the replacement of the gasblock assembly on an AK47. Does anyone know if it is legal to purchase a gasblock with a bayonet lug for a Romanian SAR1 which does not have an intact lug (lug was filed down prior to sale for compliance)? I've read that such a purchase is only legal if it is to be used as a spare part.

If it makes the parts count then a bayonet lug is legal. The lack of imported parts makes it legally a US-made rifle and can have the features of a non-imported rifle. Some states may have more restrictions.

Thanks allesennogwat! I'll need to check on Massachusetts laws because I think I'm screwed on that here.
