Default Opening of a ak 74 type brake for 7.62x39mm bullet

Hello,
What is the diameter at the outlet of the 24mm AK74 muzzlebrake. As so to be aware not to install a 74 brake that is for 5.45x 39 bullet? I picked up one the other day and it measured .335. Is that wide enough? I realize that the 7.62mm x39 bullet dia is .310 - .311. I just want to make sure not to blow the brake off. Thanks

A real AK-74 muzzle brake measures about 0.33" to 0.34" so your measurement is right. The AK-74 muzzle brake has an insert which forms a second chamber or reduces the inside capacity. The AK-74 muzzle brake is chrome plated. I had a friend in Europe measure a real AK-103 muzzle brake in 7.62. He said it did not have the insert and was not chromed. The size of the chamber I understand but it sounds like they are getting cheap in the AK-100 series. He measured the opening at 10.5 mm but 10.0 mm should be enough to clear the bullet. he had metric gauges not inch but it's easy enough to figure out.
