Anyone know which barrel I want for the Polish U/F with a stamped receiver? I was looking at the green mountain AK47 1975 for $125 with a chrome bore. It looks to have the same dimensions as the Copes I am about to send back. I also found What a country has one listed for the Polish U/F, but at $79.95 I am a little gun shy. Any one have an opinion (experience) on ether one, or a better solution? Thanks.

you want the 75 euro/romy etc barrel. The 1970 barrel is for the AK47's like the yugo types which has bigger journals.I would still call them or e-mail them to make sure.I don't know why they use those terms. They could easily just rattle off the journal sizes.I gotta say everything has gone up.
79.00 is not bad but is it chromed.. what is wrong with the copes barrel? not chromed?

i've built a couple rifles with the arms of america barrels and for the money i was quite impressed theyhave either chrome or non chrome. used a non chrome for my polish underfolder, in fact the have a "polish underfolder profile" though i beleive the only difference with that oneand their romy one is the little feed ramp bevel on the bottom edge of the chamber like the true polish barrels i've seen have

I'm on #3 of my Polish underfolder builds using AOA chromelined barrels with no problems. The barrels are advertised a having oversized journels for the Polish underfolders barrel components, so if you have a lathe or access to one, there is no problem. I voted for these barrels with my wallet as I got 8 of them, some of that group did not need any cutting of the journels as they fit the kit that was used to do the build. Just be sure to mike the journels & each part that you install to make sure they will mate correctly & polish the insides of the barrel components so that you don't gall the barrel while pressing the parts on.

Thanks for the replies. Ding the Copes barrel is not chrome lined, but the real problem is the twist rate (1 in 16) and very shallow rifling. They had a bad batch but they are taking care of it.
