Its a great idea..... but its been around a LONG time. Seems a bit steep in the wallet. not sure what area its int though, maybee a ritsy neighborhood or a job rich neighborhood.

It seems SO STUPIDLY SIMPLE...... if every house has a gun or three..... NOBODY is gonna rob it. Dunno what the problem is.

+1. It goes back to the concept of - who's going to try and rob a house if each house has a weapon and trained individuals in it.

I personally would like to see more folks get CCW certified to outnumber the potential morons that contemplate crimes against folks/property.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kennesaw,_Georgia

"In 1982 the city passed an ordinance [Sec 34-21][13]

(a) In order to provide for the emergency management of the city, and further in order to provide for and protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants, every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm, together with ammunition therefore. "

"Kennesaw crime rates are less than half of US averages. Crime rates declined from 2003 through 2008"

all this in the atlanta metro area. when will the rest of the country catch on. i know i am dreaming.

I'm not sure why they are training with Uzi's,as they are something not likely to be encountered or owned by everyday people. Yes,some guys have them, but no where near as common as a simple semi-auto pistol,or carbine. Learn to use everything, but train with what you are most likely to use.

good in theory, but (and I speak from personal experience)...

if you live alone and arent paying attn when you leave for some errands, someone can witness you leaving and take the opportunity to snag a free 28" monitor.

There are a couple of outfits in this region that will take you from basic orientation onward through any training you want. The cost is modest, and the opportunity for folks to gain a decent understanding of themselves and their weapons. One guy will supply guns and ammo for rent for the training days. There are basic courses for handgun handling & shooting, advanced handgun, basic and advanced carbine and shotgun. People love it. There is always the chance of a poorly equipped, poorly motivated, unteachable student showing up for class and bein a fnckup, but those are fairly rare.

He's been working on this project for a couple of years now.

It takes a lot more than having every adult packing a full auto uzi to make a good community.

Agreed! It's the mindset! Unfortunately, the mindset that is so prevalent on this forum is becoming more and more rare in our nation!

This place was a dream during the boom out here in the desert. Now it's a bust. Frontsite is still around but nothing came of it. Just tumbleweeds and lizards now.

I am sorry for you loss. But I would think that your broken doors or windows would cost more than a 28"

If you left the doors open thats another story.

I know these ass clowns CAN AND DO scope out houses with 52" ect and wait for people to leave for there jobs.

28" used (not to mention stollen) aint worth much...... maybee a crack rock or two.
