I am looking at an Enfield rifle but it has some rust in the bore. Can that be cleaned out? Can the rifle still be shot?

It depends on how much rust you are talking about - how much is it? I know lots of guys who have wire brushed a bore clean and salvaged a rifle. They were cleaning up rusty areas - not nearly rusted shut barrels.
Starting last year, I've used Brownell's VFG pellets and J&B polishing paste with very good luck myself. I start with the intensive pellets and scrub like mad. I use the jig that holds two of them together in series. http://www.brownells.com/1/3/polishing-paste |
