i just picked up an ak-105 parts kit. the kit has no numbers matching, but was headspaced properly by the previous owner and passes the go gauge. has anyone ever seen one of these kits before? i look at kits quite a bit and i have never seen one. what would you say its worth?

They aren't common anymore but if you post a WTB there are usually a few sellers out there. Generally I would say they are between 600-700, but they may be worth more now.

if its an actual russian 105 kit, with the correct russian fsb gb combo, actual russian 5.45 muzzle booster, russian marked 500m rear sight, correct trigger guard, correct russian side folding stock with trunion, hardware etc.. it would be worth quite a lot... i saw one, barrel-less of course, sell recently on the ak forum for $1500.. and thats with no rear tunion.. it had the furniture and correct stock, but no folding stock hardware...
the only 105 kit i had ever seen.. whoever bought it basically paid for the FSB, muzzle booster, rear sight and stock... all the hard to find stuff if its mixed bag of bulgarian parts, not so much.. the bulgarian fsb combos are much much easier to find than the russian ones and the 4.5mm trunions that work with bulgy and US folding stocks are typically much easier to find than the 5.5 mm ones that work with the russian 100 series folding stocks.. at least up until recently.. kvar just had some of these parts and rusmilitary just had some.. there are a couple floating around on gunbroker.. but before that they were basically unobtanium. just a side note.. some people prefer the bulgarian FSB because it uses the same journal sizes as a standard AK74 barrel and can be swapped out easily.. the russian FSB requires that the barrel be turned down and has to have the gas port on either the barrel or the FSB altered. also the russian muzzle booster "times" differently and will look funny on a bulgarian FSB Last edited by fearrainsdown; 01-09-2011 at 03:37 PM. |

thanks for the info again. im not sure if the fsb is russian or not. how would i be able to tell..measure the id of the fsb i suppose right? the rear sight looks like it came off a saiga only being marked to 300m. not sure about the trigger guard it has a rectangle dimple on the mag release. the front trunion is bulgy having the c10 stamp on it. the stock has the complete rear trunion and the stock is izhevsk marked. for all i know the stock might be the only russian part ont the gun. thanks again for your knowledge i love learning new things about my new obsession

well seeing how a russian 100 series side folder with hardware sells for 250 alone, id say you got a real good deal... esp with your FSB, headspaced barrel etc..

lord k-var used sell all that cheap unissued is it a side folder?. its only the barrel makes a 105 but if i was going to get a short barrel ak it would be a 105. becouse ak47 16 barrel is same FPS as krinkov at what 9" a 105 is 12.5 and u lose alote with SBR. that FSB is supost be more accurate capable. the marines stuck with the 20" m16A4 has alote more killing power n range over the 14.5 M4 hell the army just uses 300m marines still use 500m

ah really is a russsain any better than a bulgarian? i think the bulgarians are better quality atleast in imports. the russains make better ak's for their troops and the saiga/100's are about totaly not interchangable with other ak's. bolt, bolt carrier, bulgarians stuck with akm,aks74 style. and must be in tight becouse they are only ones to get updates n help after the fall of soviet union.hell my bulgy aks-74 parts kit has a tula folder after they even imported that tooling

So did anyone import true bulgarian 105 kits where the barrels didn't have to be modified?
