Default Tapco Rivets

Has anyone used Tapco's rivet sets to do a build? If not who's rivets do you recommend? Thanks.

I would warn you about the Tapco rivits sir. Short rivits (for trigger guard and trunion) are fine, but the "long" ones were too short when used with an EWBANKS receiver.

The long rivets are long enough, they are just not large enough in diameter. So when you try to crush them they just compress back into the hole in kind of a "snake".

I just found this out the hard way. My rear rivets are now flush with the outside of the receiver.

The Tapco rear rivets measure 1.500" in length from the bottom of the head. I've seen a sketch for the true swell neck rivets and they are 1.625" in length from the bottom of the head.

I'm glad I asked. So whose rivets do you recommend?

I'm sure there are other sources available, but I just ordered a couple of sets from low lead over on the marketplace. They appear to be the right rivets for the job.

K-Var lists the FACTORY Bulgarian and Romanian rivets, but their complete sets were sold out last I checked. They usually restock within a month or two. The trunnion rivets are the critical ones and they sell those separately. Still had them in stock last I checked. (Tapcos or even locally obtained ones work fine on the TG)

Try Global Trades.
Global Trades
The set you want is the B-129. Complete 23 piece set. Not listed on the website. You have to ask for it. Price in a Shotgun News ad was $12.50.
