So my buddy dropped off a bag of some brass cased 7.62x39 that from what I can gather is corrosive yugo surplus. Some came on stripper clips and they have only numbers on the bottom stamp. Just curious if anyone can verify if this is corrosive Yugo ammo. Thanks

Take a magnet to them. They look like copper wash steel case Chinese from the headstamp I think. I'd have to check the headstamps. They don't look Yugoslavian other than color.

It is Chinese #31 is a Chinese factory code,it will have a steel bullet jacket, all Chinese X39 ammo does so the magnet test want matter. I've never seen any Chinese ammo that came in a brass case.
I have some of the same #31 and 92 year of mfg. and mine is steel core. Came in Yellow Box.

It is no way as common as the lacquered or copper wash ammo but I had a case or two if it back in the day. |
