Out of morbid curiosity put my mag in my saiga dropped the rifle from chest height onto a carpeted floor mind you. Sure enough broke the tab straight off. A shame there not reinforced like other mags. They do feed well. Wanted to conduct my own test. Pulled the spring and follower. The follwers a perfect fit for my steel mags and hand cycled nicely. Oh well not somthing i'd recomend.

Careful on the new Bulgie polymers; unlike the mil-spec waffles, the recent import after-market mags do not have a metal lug. I got one of the new 40rnd slab-sides, but it's only going to be a range mag because of the unreinforced, plastic lug.
Price was right, though.

I can't wait to get my hand on some of these mags by US Palm.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTtKhQ5rkGs http://www.us-palm.com/index.php?opt...w-product-ak30 If they are as good as I am hearing I will outfit myself with a full complement and be selling my steelies and waffles here.

The Palm mags do NOT have metal reinforced feed lips (saw pics of dissected one)...
Despite a bunch of confusing assumptions and advertising to the effect they did. I'm not saying they are not decent (and expensive) -but black/olive bulgy "waffles", they are not. |

LOL at US Palm,
http://www.sksboards.com/smf/index.php?topic=69579.0 http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=55&t=126305 They have no metal feed lips, which they were advertised as haveing. Nor do they have removealbe floor plates. How are you gonna clean that 30 dollar mag? Throw it away and buy a new one thats how I'm sticking with steelies. make sure you watch clips on the mag tests. No point of paying 30 for a mags that breaks just as easy as an 10 steel. edit first ARFCOM link was deleted http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=55&t=127982 Do you jump when Gabe says so? |

Bushman, You might want to wait and see if they make some modifications/improvements after the initial offering (similar to any other new product) Other than a desire or need for US made magazines, personally I would never sell my Bulgy circle 10's for the USPalms. Though I havent seen their bakelite color model yet .....yummmm. Cheers, HarvKY |

All I know is this.
I never saw any advertising claiming to have metal feed lips, just a bunch of lips flapping about it. The mags are easily cleaned. I've watched all the videos out there and a mag that fires after being used to dig a hole is good in my book. Of course I'll be sure if they're any good before selling off the rest, who wouldn't? I've been shooting for a long time, ladies, and even traded a few shots. Don't worry about me. Zwitter, stick with airsoft, dude.

Yay another internet tough guy. Did you even look at the links? So all the people on AR15.com are wrong only because you didn't see the adds of the metal feed lips. Becasue I did, even after images of some that where broken they didn't change their sight.
The threads were taken down because US PALM threaten to sue, now why would they do that if the stood 100% behind their product? Why not replace the broken ones. " The feed lips and locking surfaces are reinforced by a stainless steel cage that has been molded into the entire top of the magazine to further ensure reliability for years of trouble free service." That was taken from their sight, so now you have actually read it RE: US Palm AK30 v. Bulgarian Circle-10 v. Steel - Torture Test http://www.suarezinternational.com/MVI_2881.avi http://www.suarezinternational.com/MVI_2882.avi http://www.suarezinternational.com/MVI_2883.avi Again, why buy a 30 dollar mag that breaks just as easyily as a 10 dollar steelie? Because suarez told you do? http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=55&t=127982 http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.htm...=122484&page=5 Page 5 has photos of broken mags from a 5 day class the way of the rifle 3 out of the 5 US PALM mags went down. Care to post said videos of hole digging to back that up with? Last edited by Zwitter; 04-27-2010 at 09:08 AM. |

Steel don't break, boys.
Steel mags can also be used as impact weapons.
