Default Walmart ammo

Went to Walmart yesterday to buy some 25 cal ammo for the vest pistol I got...man..their shelves are almost empty and the guy said we havent gotten any ammo in about 3 months and dont know when we will again...I was thinking the gun/ammo craze was about getting over..but apparently not, they have a complete showcase full of guns but no ammo to speak of..they still have the Mini Ruger 14 as they have had for as long as I can remember..pretty soon they r gonna have to be throwing birthday parties for that gun or give it its own walmart associates vest or something..as its obvious they dont want to come down from the 627.00+tax price

I was only just recently surprized to see the local super Walmart actually have .22 ammo in...

I bought up 5500 rounds of it and was even more surprized a week later when they still had some .22 left.

You might say I long ago gave up on Walmart....

I was talking to the local Wally World sporting goods lady the other day. She's been there since they opened, BTW. Recently our Wally World decided that the aisles were too narrow and remodeled so now people can block the aisles 3 abreast instead of the old 2. Now, to do this they had to reduce their selection of items. It seems they simply looked at the brands I purchase the most and decided to eliminate them.

However, the lady there tells me that is not what happened. What they did was look at the sales for a certain number of months prior and based on those numbers eliminated all the "slow movers". If sales weren't over a certain number it got eliminated.

This partly explains why they have no ammo. If your regional supervisor is an idiot like ours is, they look only at the numbers and see that ammo as a whole was selling poorly in the months targeted for this study. Not because there was no demand, but because they were already sold out and couldn't get any more to sell! Consequently, they refuse to order ammo in because they believe it will sit on the shelf unsold.

Plenty of .40S&W, .38Spl & .44Mag in both the Albuquerque Walmarts I was in a couple of weeks back. .380 down to $18 a box there & at Sportsman's Warehouse.
No .22rf
No 9mm
No .45ACP
No .223
No .308 except the $40 a box hunting stuff.

IMO the manufacturers need to do some explaining to consumers, as they've had far more than enough time to ramp up production to meet demand.
Maybe they need to offload all the metal they bought at inflated prices first......

.25 is a bad back up weapon. Trade for .22. You need the penetration.

My mom went to Wal-Mart for some oil-lamp oil that they used to carry all the time and she found out that it has been pulled off the shelves, since it's somehow dangerous..? She asked an employee if they were going to pull all food off the shelves also since it would pose a danger to fat people. The Wal-mart employee agreed that it was stupid.

Anyway, the Wal-Mart near me usually has a good stock of shotgun shells. Handgun and rifle ammo is usually pretty low though.

There is aquite a good stock of ammo at my local Walmart here in Maine. Always have .22lr, 9mm, .40, .223, 7.62x39 (pricey though). They usually have .45 and most other calibers as well.

Walmart has run everybody else out of business, damn near. Now they can start deciding what we are mandated to have, or not have. I guess your mom should be just as in the dark as all the idiots who can't plan ahead.

shizz..the shotgun ammo was in good supply..had a few shelves worth and I looked thru it and all I could find was #7 I thinkk it was..I just quit looking after awhile..ticks me off they dont carry any gun for home defense..about 10 yrs ago I bought a moss12 with pistol grip..havent seen one since..MOTO, I dont know if they had any 223 there..havent bought any since I sold my AR about 1 yr ago..but it was high then..as was most all the hunting calibers like 30.06,308 and whatever else..30 and 38 caliber isnt or wasnt exactly cheap either last yr..but that was when obama was getting elected..the only guns I can find at the pawn shop in town is those big shotguns...they finally did get some offbeat pistols in which I didnt like tho.

AFAIK, Wally World can still special order just about any gun you can find in their catalog. You just gotta ask them.

The wally world closest to me has a woman manager that is not hot into
the gun section. They have been limited to what they got before the shortage
but get it in everyday with much of it selling out if it's scarce like .380.
The next closest one has a great gun dept an has experienced very little
in the way of shortages over the last year and a half. Certain ammo was nearly
unavailable everywhere but other than that their previous ordering had them
plenty ahead of the game with corporate I guess.

Our Wal-Mart has Airsoft BBs and paintballs. Perhaps 12 Ga. slugs but only in deer season.
Why? Politics and the fact the Knickers would steal anything else.

Geist762..your right about the 25 not having any power to speak of ..two reasons I bought it was that its unregistered ..and it came with a clip-on holster for a hundred bucks..I buy every unregistered gun I can find..got a hit on a b/a 30.06 with a variable scope for 315.00....I put my PSL up for sale in the tricounty paper..if I sell that..then I will hunt for more UR guns
