Guns Network May Go Offline

Just got this tonight:

We are emailing ALL Guns Network members today to inform you that Guns Network may go offline within the next 7 days. This is out of our control. We cannot go into any details as our attorneys have told us to remain quiet on many details not listed in this email. We have gone to or second team of attorneys, the litigation kind. I have no choice now as my hands are tied. We are doing this email to crush any rumors or rumor mills that may start, due to we may have to go offline for a time.

I can say is this, Guns Network went for many years with no main vbulletin upgrades or photo software upgrades. This created several problems as we were promised the world and never got any or what we were promised in short. When we finally thought we were getting upgrades after 4+ years, the upgrades were only half way done when we were left with bugs in the software and they were everywhere. As well as upgrade packages not quite finished. We could never get anyone to help us and so made it easy for hackers to get inside our servers once they found the holes in our software. Keep in mind our FTP access was cut off at some point in August of 2009. No one could access Guns Network thru www.gunsnet.net as it went to a white page and then we had a serious compromise and the servers were taken offline and www.ak-47.net was never put back online and we never got a reason why it had not either.

You may have noticed, we have gone offline several times in the last couple of months, please accept my apologies as those problems were not within our control. We are currently working to make sure once we get back online to fix all the problems. We will email everyone once we have fixed all the software problems. The servers will be moved and in the end to Texas, we are not going to allow any hosting company EVER to manage our websites or servers, period end of story.

We have a team of folks ready to get the Guns Network, AK-47.net, Guns Networks Online store and our server’s back online once the legal problems have been solved one way or another. I have a company ready to put in the T1’s in the new place where the servers will be stored. I just need to give them a weeks notice once we get a hold of our server.

We felt you as a member needed to know that many of our problems have not been because we don’t care about the websites. It is because we have no access in order to fix the problems. We appreciate you being a member of our online community and we look forward to seeing you back on once we do go offline. The website is up for now but will soon be shut off, we believe some time this week.

I hope this may have filled in some blanks for many of you who may have wondered why Guns Network had been somewhat unstable for the last two months. Meaning why we were not fixing the many problems that are there in the software. This is all because we have no ability to connect with our servers.

We look forward to turning the page once our legal team has all of our legal problems solved. We will eventually explain in more detail what happened but in the mean time while Guns Network is still up enjoy.

Again we will email all Guns Network members once the servers are back online and if everything goes well legally, then move the servers to Texas and get everything back online and then start repairing all the damage that has been done to our software packages. Get our advertising back on.

Once again if we have not said it enough! We thank you for your patronage and thank you for being a member of Guns Network and we look forward to seeing you once again on the other side.

I was on that site since july 1999! My first gun board to join. Will see if it comes back or not.

What is it - some kind of beef over the software they are using?
