Default Placing knife on MOLLE/PALS

I have a really nice MOLLE/PALS belt but my sheaths are all compatible with ALICE or a standard belt?

Any ideas?

Mostly I'd like to get my Kabar or an M16 bayo on it.

Spec Ops make a knife sheath that is MOLLE compatible, works pretty good too. I used 550 cord to secure my small KaBar to my vest last trip over.

Doc, I should have caveated that I had my open top 3 cell mag pouches over the knife sheath, so it worked out pretty well that way. The Spec Ops sheath worked well for my old full sized real KaBar that I've taken everywhere I've been for the past 20 years.

That costs more than my Ka-Bar!
Plus, they should make it in OD.

That looks like what I'm looking for. Thanks.

They have the coyote brown and that is pretty much as good as OD IMO.

In thick foliage, it won't matter, when foliage is down, brown or khaki work better. MO, of course.

I'm not real picky about all of my gear being the same color or pattern. I think a variety of natural colors may even work better. I do like the mulitcam though. That really seems to be some of the best all purpose camo out there.

I have actually given thought to making some of my own gear as a lot of the stuff out there is just not quite what I want. Close, but not quite.

Can you guys see me sewing ?!? LOL

I may though. Problem is our sewing machine isn't one I am convinced would handle heavy material.

I can buy multicam in bulk though for pretty cheap and so are all the other components. Adds up, but I could put some pretty good gear together with a little practice.

Well,Doc, I found an older Pfaff(made in about the 50's) at the flea market for 50 bucks last month.
I tried it with a piece of the strapping used from a tactical vest and I am able to fold that strapping over to 3 layers and the machine does great!

I have every intention to mess with it and see how I do. I picked up some leather needles and will get some denim needles to experiment some the more the crappier weather keeps me in after darkthirty.

Besides,I would think your sewing would be fine, doctoring and all!

When I get some practice in I would like to try some of that multicam and see what I end up with.

Doc, if you get around to making some AK specific gear let me know. I have some pouches made by Tactical Tailor for AK mags, and they are great, but I would really love some single cell ak pouches.

That Coyote brown is very nice. The USMC got that stuff right, and now even the Army is experimenting with it. Even when full foilage is up, brown is still predominant.

I will.
I would be primarily working on that and FAL pouches as I have had difficulty finding stuff I like.

Maybe a backpack and some pouches, etc.

I was just looking for some for you but couldn't find what I was after.

SKD Tactical used to have some single mag pouches for AKs. I have two and wish I'd gotten more. I've got them on a thigh rig and they work slick. Only beef is I wish I had more.
They don't even have any anymore though and I never found any on anyone else's sites.

They were Blackwater gear--of which I have a bunch. Well thought out gear as is HSGI gear. Tactical tailor has lots of good pouches but not many mag pouches I liked. Their gear is tough though.

I'm not real big on the gear thing but good mag pouches are a must and I really do like the standard belt with a thigh rig holding mags. Then a knife or bayo and a pouch for extra gear. Kind of a firm believer in traveling light. Anything I carry has to be lightweight and compact/compactable. Otherwise it ain't goin.
