What is the really sticky,waxy,glue like substance that seems to ooze out of the residential box?I've seen this many times here in Mississippi.I ask because the goo has oozed from inside the pvc spike that my residential box sits upon.I have two puppies that have gotten this stuff on their tails.The mother dog ripped it off but the hair has still not grown back(three weeks).Is this stuff toxic?

A lot of Swabbies usta complain about it when they got back from the Philippines.

Icky Pic. It's a waterproofing compound. It tends to boil out of the cable during hot weather. Relatively non toxic. Similar to vaseline. Cleans up with mineral spirits.

don't know about phone, cable t.v. uses silicone dielectric grease as a waterproofer.

Motorhead I'm well aqainted with dialectric grease.Icky pic? sounds like the animal in question.Good thing the pup's name was Spike.She certainly lives up to it.Her brother flies a naked tail with a puff on the end.I was thinking "Feyd"but he could be a "Bucky".One pound of pup chow gone in about fourty seconds.And then they climb my leg.Damned ridgebacks.

not good for the skin. i speak from personal experience. i would clean off real good and treat with hydrocortisone 1% cream or spray.

It's just like yavlar said. Try some type of citrus base cleaner, it will dislove it without any harm.
