Default Meet the Girls!!!

Just Picked up my first AK (WASR-10) on Tuesday. No Mag Wobble or canted sights! I like the wood look.

I was searching around to pick one up and still had my name on a list at the local gun shop when some came in on Friday... Soooo...

I picked up an IO AK-47C... now I'm torn between the two. I wasn't really into the synthetic look at first but I took to it pretty quick!

As soon as the weather breaks I gotta get to the range and see which one I really enjoy!

Here are some pics... Any input is appreciated! Don't mind my Glock 19 as I just through it in the mix to show some friends.

I know I still have to cut the barrell nut on the WASR and get a muzzle break...

Thanks,
neotracer

I like the WASR-10 better. I just favor the wood stock better.

Default I think you’re confused

Those are boys. They’ve got 30 round hangy down things. Then they’ve got 30 round sticky up things. LOL.

Looks good man and welcome to the place some of us call home.

You might consider buying a romy side folder stock when you can find one then you can have two flavors to choose from. Nice guns though. congrats.

Default Galil handguard

UR AK with the Galil handguard is ALMOST as ugly as the version I built for my son..complete with the collapsible AR buttstock
it is so UGLY I wouldn't put it in my safe until I could deliver it to him....told him it was so UGLY no one would steal it....

welcome to the files..even ugly AK's are welcome

welcome to the board

looooooooooking good there

there was a time, that the romanians were a cheap way for a starter AK.........but with prices on romanian WASRs in the rediculous price realm for the quality and wormanship of them.............if I was going to buy a AK now, I would spend some extra bucks and get a higher quality AK, like one of the BULGARIAN SLR series.

How much did you get them for?

You're missing the cleaning rod on the IO. Mine came with one and so did many others who have the same Ak. If the shop you got it from claims it didn't come with one, email/call IO and get one for free.

I know I paid more than I should have but its my own fault for getting in the game so late... WASR was $600 and IO was $650...

I just called the shop this morning and they said they should have a cleaning rod for me tomorrow!

I will probably call IO and let them know and see what thay say about it also.

I might do that after I see how they shoot! I also have a Yugo UF parts kit on order with Apex and can't wait to build my own AK!

Thanks!

$650 is about the average. Mine was $677 OTD b4 the election so you got a reasonable price for it. $600 for what WASR...well, you know already...LOL.

I just got my recoil buffer and a J-tac47 in the mail so I'll be slapping them on mine and hopefully testing them out this weekend.

$600.00 is a good deal for an AK these days!

Look at what these run for now on any vendor site.

Nice AKs, Neo! You did all right and I'm sure both will be fun. It'll be interesting which one shoots the best.

Did that OD sling come with your WASR-10? I got one in 2007 that came with a leather sling I never liked so I just picked up one exactly like yours, right down to the fastener and canvas loop. I thought it was Romanian but wasn't sure.

Nice pictures BTW.

Thanks, Neo, good to have confirmation on the sling. I thought I'd seen other WASRs with that one so bought it. You never know with AK accessories, could be from anywhere.

I wondered where you got the baby magazines, maybe the big ones reproduce every so often! I just ordered three military surplus steel mags from Cheaper Than Dirt because they look like the two that came with my WASR (a couple distinctive cuts in the metal) plus lots of feedback says they work well in the Romy.

Welcome to the forum. Nice rifles you have there - so now go and buy 2 dozen more 30-rnd magazines (at least) and get some more ammo while you're at it..
