BROWN BEAR OR WOLF AMMO. ????

Just wondering which ammo is the best to buy. (no jams) the brown bear or the wolf. the store down the road has brown bear but is sold out of wolf and didnt want to waste my money on the brown bear if its no good.

dont listen to drj, buy ALOT more than 6 of each sheesh!!!

brown bear is the lacquer case of the bear line from Barnaul. they have a reputation for making excellent ammo.
ive shot wolf in the past and i just dont like it, id personally pay more for the brown bear (but not MUCH more). give it a go and see what you think

$6 per box is a little much IMO (thats $300 per 1k. i walked out of a store trying to gouge me for $285 per 1k for wolf, and another wanted $265 for wolf)
i suggest looking around online

wideners has a good selection including barnaul (the same or comparable to brown bear (they make the bear line)) for $116 per 500

check to see if its any savings after shipping and go from there. for instance without shipping you can get 700 rds of hotshot for $150
there are a ton of other dealers online so look around, and like drj said ammoman counts shipping in the price so the price you see isnt necessarily too high

Sportmansguide is out of brown bear. I just got 500 myself for 98 dollars shipped but had to buy a membership to get that price. I ordered last week. They do have 640rds of yugo surplus for 150 though.

yea theres a store here that i can get the brown bear fmj for 150.00 for 500 rounds they have 2 cases left. i am still thinking on it or waiting and go to the gun show this weekend and see if i can find it there cheaper.

Wolf mil classis's good stuff, but then agains so is all the bears, barnul, golden tiger, basiclly everything russian. The only brand Im leary of is the wolf black box, Ive gotten a few rusty shells new in the box.

150 is tomorrows cheap price. In a panic buy I bought a case of wolf for 289 out the door after the election. The price was the same as before the election. The shop is small and are not really gougers. I doubt they made much on that deal.

A few weeks ago I paid 135 shipped for 500 rds of wolf from Ammunitiontogo.

Then again my philosophy is a bird in hand is better than two in the bush.

I still dont know if 500 rounds of the brown bear is worth the 150.00, i guess i wont find it any cheaper. i was looking for the wolf fmj black box but dont know how it compares to the brown bear fmj.

It is worth it because the price will only get higher over time.As far as deciding between Wolf or Brown Bear ,it does'nt matter ,it all shoots.Just buy whatever 7.62X39 you can get,even if you can only get it by the box.

I've shot both but I prefer wolf I think It's a cleaner shooting ammo, It takes twice as much shooting with wolf to dirty your rifle. My advice would be to steer away from brown bear.
