Default Which Reciever to use

I have a few question to ask. I have a AMD65 ,Polish underfolder and a AMD-63 0n order. Can i use a Hesse reciever for the Polish and AMD-65. Will the folder get in the way of the serial number for the Hesse reciever. On the OOW reciever will they work with the underfolder stock. How do you fix the selector on the OOW reciever from being too low. I am planting to drill and tap for my build what size screws do i need. What drill bits and taps do you guys use. Thanks

I would stick with the hesse receiver for all your builds. I built an AMD65 on a hesse, there were no problems with serial number placement. I am getting ready to build a Polish underfolder, and have checked the placement of the trunnion in relation to the serial number, and it appears to be ok, but it will be a tight fit. The OOW receiver has issues with placement of fcg holes, especially the selector lever hole. I don't know why everybody always recommends the oow rec, cause there is always a lot of rework involved with them before they will function properly. I'v never had a bit of trouble with the Hesse rec. Hesse did have a very deserved reputation for turning out shitty products, but the ak receiver seems to be the one product they did right. All the holes, slots, mag well, receiver rails, lower receiver rails, overall length, and hardness of receiver are accurate. I don't know of any other us made ak receiver that can say the same!

Unless they moved the serial number, it will not work on the underfolder. The last time I looked you will loose the first 2 letters of the serial when you cut out the hole for the folder. And the folder itself will cover up even more of it.

I would hate to buy a Hesse reciever for my Polish underfolder and find out it would not work with the serial number being in the way. Has anyone build a Polish underfolder with a Hesse reciever.

I have only seen one Heese reciever with the # on the left side under the top two trunion rivets and I have it. I may be an older one as it has a 4 didget # and no letter prefix . The other three I have the # is on the back right hand side and is about centered under the bottom lower trunion rivet hole.It has a six didget # and a letter prefix.
