Default RPKs by Century

Yes,

The "C" word says it all, but I'm seeing YUGO RPKs all around built on DCI rcvrs. I was careful and picked up a very nice yugo folder by Century on a DCI platform... What is a going, good, or great price on these... I'm seeing 595-625.. In good condition too.... Careful attention to detail can result in a good weapon choice sans the Builder. Century Mad beaver fodder thoroughly inspected can result in a nice wpn... I'm willing to try it on one of these hvy barreled yugos if the price is rite....

century did a good job with the yugo guns... i have owned 3 of them, and all 3 ran well. i did have a B1 that had a sticky bolt... i sold that gun though. the two folders though have been fine. i just got a romy RPK built by them, and its in good shape. my yugo mags wont fit... but all euro mags will. funny enough, the euro mags wont fit my yugo gun!

Default Century RPKs

OK,

It's moving like a pond water in Gen Rifle Discussion.... RPKs by Century running 595-625... A thorough inspection can result in a good "Mad Beaver" buy, but is this price going, good, or really good. I've inspected the product and those hvy barreled beasts seem worth having. Already own a Century folder, good shooter, best of the bunch I had to choose from. These are on DCI rcvrs too... Help guys... Sorry mods if this wrong area to post for RPKs to incl gen disc board, just getting no where fast in Gen Rifle section...

The ole "IF" disclaimer....

... Me too "if" I wasn't feeding a family of Pitbulls, mama being the most ferocious of the bunch... Budget for Motorcycle, ammo, fuel, and weapons sorely influenced by mere pennys... Thnx though, the peer pressure was once refreshing when I was single... Coulda used it when a guy offered me an MP5 w/ folding stock, short barrel, fwd vert grip, 32 mags and 2 trigger assemblies for 9000.00 back in '99... Dangit stingfish where were you then... Now its damnedable(sp?)..

You may want to check out Classic Arms Inc. I bought one of their AES10-B RPK Romanian (built for the US market by Cigur in Romania) Heavy barrel, heavy receiver for $399 last week or two. Real pleased with it. Just a minimum grip, trigger group and mag well work by Century. Again, I am well pleased with my purchase to the point of thinking about getting another.

I got one of the early Centruy RPK's and love it. I was at the same gun shop I got my RPK from months ago and they had another RPK in stock that had a silver ring around the barrel where it fits in the receiver that caught my eye. Kind of looked like it was added to put a smaller barrel in a larger hole. Going to look at my RPK today after work because I don't remember that on my. Must look at Centruy guns close to get a good product.

The Century RPK's (AES 10B's) are made in Romania and imported here, BUT they are imported as single stack magazines so the Century baboons are set loose on these to open the mag wells up....a lil dremel work was needed on both of mine before drum magazines would fit.

Over all the AES 10B is a fantastic buy..the quality is high end for Romanian imports.

SIGKING, from what I read of your post, it sounds like your shop has one of them skinny barreled AES 10(A) abortions.

But these are YUGO rebuilds...

I've seen enuf yugos to know this and the barrels are big... Just curious bout the price, 595-625.... Yes, again they r Century types and yes I would thoroughly inspect b4 purchase and hold the shop to some type of "assistance in the event it sucks" terms... But these ARE yugos...

thnx yall, plz keep it comin'...

those are dark bores though, and receivers are hard to get since NDS stopped making them.

Classic has them for 599.99...

So the 595-625 is going as Ding has also indicated... It's the M72 Yugo RPK I'm seeing....

Maybe I should just go buy one and count it as a valuable future investment. I'm seeing Yugo kits for 500... I guess 95 more for labor is not to shabby...

Good Recvrs on DCI, too...

Good call reddirt,

thnx for the tip.... What was your total damage if you don't mind me asking? I can get the same thing but it'll cost this plus the FFL use.... Figure that plus 50-75 or 10%, right? Guessing 450-475, still better than 595.. and shipping, add 30, 480-505, still 95 cheaper... Gear r a turnin'.... Gotta liquidate 505 after buying 355.00 in ammo...

All 3 duplicate threads scattered in 3 forums merged into one.... and then merged yet again into the only one actually posted in the correct forum.

in the future they'll simply be deleted save the only one actually posted in the correct forum to save all the hassle of merging each, pick a forum and post your thread ONE TIME in that forum.

OK Dad...

But it took this many to finally get somewhere.. We've had this discussion so although I'm guilty and deserve a spanking, the end justified the means... I'll try to keep it CONCENTRATED, but it moves like pond water everywhere but the Discussions forum... Only delivering the message based on the nature of the beast.... Squeaky wheel gets greased or banned first...

I'm a good boy all the other times so be ez when you swing the paddle... Thank you sir, give me another

10-4.

I know this is an older thread but was wanting an M72 & the "C" brand was causing some hesitation. Then I heard that the M72`s are contracted out to a different builder/builders. I saw one at a local gunshop & the fit, finish & overall quality seemed really good. Anyone know who is doing the builds on these? I also noticed that some guns have different p.g.`s( some w/ finger grooves, some not), & that the metal/wood finish can vary as well. Not sure if they`re all built equally well, or if there is certain things to look for. Thanks for any info.

Whoever Century has building their Yugos, is pretty well on the ball.

I can't speak for their other kit builds, though.

Just talked to J&G sales & the guy told me that Century puts them together using a true DCI RPK receiver( said a previous batch was not).Another person at Centerfire Systems had earlier told me that they were contracted out to a different builder ( ???- who knows). Since J&G is the only place I know of that has any left I went ahead & ordered one. Prefer to look a gun over 1st before buying but the better quality seems to be pretty consistent on the M72`s. All the ones that were available locally w/in the past month are gone. Have to wait & see.

i live near century and get to chat with a few of thier guys time to time.yes they are subbing out some builds but that is only due to the fact they cant keep up with orders. no real way of telling who built what.

Thanks masman for replying, the crickets were chirping pretty loud. I did go ahead & order a M72 & although I haven`t been able to give it a thourough run (less than a hundred rounds), the function seems ok. The only issue I could find is the safety selector moving closer to the "safe" position during firing sessions. It doesn`t lock in to the indent on the receiver in fire mode. Makes me wonder if the receiver was stamped correctly or if the selector is even correct. I`m sure there`s a simple fix to this but haven`t gotten an answer yet. As far as where Century builds their M72`s, I got the same answer as you did. I got 3 different answers from 3 different sources(I don`t know, they are outsourced, or Century does the builds). Still seems like whoever the builder is did an adequate job by Century standards.

I boiught a skinny barreled ASE-10 this past summer. I've never had a chance to bust any rounds yet. What are the pro's and cons of the heavey vs skinny barrels? Paid about $410 out the door for it.

the aes10b's are authentic rpk barrels. i'm not sure why they put the skinny barrel on the aes10. to me they look more like a sniper rifle than squad automatic type weapon.

here is mine. my $400 aes10b with battle hardened wood and the correct romanian rpk bipod.
