Default So the answer has been there for awhile

Listen especially to the ending statements of this 150 mpg car company.

They may have said, and I may have missed it, but did they say how much the car was?

I don't think they manufacture for sale. But they came up with the technology
and our gov. and detroit blew them off. My dad had patented a rotary engine
back in 63 and got the same treatment. Not that his would have been a world
changing invention, just that they weren't even interested in looking at it in
detroit. These guys are a group of the countries best and are getting ignored.
That's why we drive toyotas, jap quality and made in America. go figure.

That's messed up. It's obviously a conspiracy to keep us right where they want us.

I don't know if it's conspiracy, stupidity, treason or a combination of the above.
But the new mercedes smart car being sold here gets 45 mpg. My friend snuck
a diesel smart car in from canada a couple of years ago and it gets a true 100
mpg. The one they are selling now has a mitsubishi motor in it I believe. About
the worst of the jap stuff. Maybe DStorm can add to this but trucks were pushing 7 and 8 miles per
gallon until 2002 when they added egr's for smog regs. brought them down to
4 and 5 at best again. The 2008 standards are even tougher so I suspect the
new ones are even worse. Not to mention it has cut motor life in half do to the
extra heat and soot the motors have to live with. I bought a 81 diesel rabbit new and got it up to 62
per gallon. Honda produced a civic in the late eighties and early 90's that was
52 or 55 to a gallon. So why is it that we have to go backwards by such a
large degree?
Read the EPA's outline of dealing with the fluorescent bulbs we all will be stuck
with in a few years. (I think 2011) They only save energy after being on for a while. They cost
15 times as much but burn out quickly if turned on and off repeatedly, and if you
break one you have to open the windows and air the mercury vapors out for 15
minutes while vacating the home. So at 10 degrees a broken bulb is going to
run my house heater for long enough to waste 5 years worth of savings plus
we'll be in the car running it for heat. Our leaders are simple American folks,
you know, morons.

epa now requires particulate filters on diesels.
look for further steps back as the global warming crap gains momentum.
there's more murcury in a filet o fish than in a cf lamp. they started requiring recycling of all fluorescents in jan. here in the peoples republik. costs over $2 per, more than i pay for some lamps. i'm a sign and lighting contractor, this becomes a problem (especially smashing em up small enough in the trash can). the lamps actually last for years, 40-50% of the cheapass chinese ballasts fail in the first year. some cities are requiring all fluorescent lighting for new construction. i'm so sick of "green" i could puke. whenever one of these morons starts telling me about global warming or consevation i just stare at them like they had a d**k on their forehead. they generally get the message.

Wanna hear somthing really strange? My guys run 4 1 tons to Nogales every friday, in the bed of those P/Us are 4 90 gallon diesel tanks $2.04 per gallon takes 3 hours round trip, alot of contracters etc.. are doing the same, now lets use my 05 Duramax Silverado 1 ton dually 4x4 as an example, on American fuel it gets 11-12 MPG on the Mexico fuel it gets 19 MPG!! everyone of the trucks run about 60% smoother and fuel milage is way up, even the 350 cummins engines run quieter and are up to 25 MPG

huh. Guess your truck still likes the proper amount of sulfer in its fuel, eh? Must not realize its now "bad for the environment" and now a polar bear must die because of it.

Ummm, polar bear... them's probably delicious fried! (But then again, what isn't, really?)

Sure. Back out all the Federal and local taxes from that $5.00 per gallon, and see what you WOULD be paying for it. Then ask yourself if the REAL problem is big oil- or big government that keeps pointing the finger at them, all the while not letting them drill where the oil is here, or build new refinerys...

Yep..... the reason its a 3 hour round trip is cause it takes over an hour to get back across the border as alot of arizona residents and contractors are all running down there and loading up on fuel cheap...

Back in 79 I had a Diesel Olds Cutlass 260 CID V8. (NOT the shitty 350!)
I got 35 MPG in a midsize US made car. True, it couldn't pull a sick call girl off a toilet but it didn't care one bit on one to 5 passengers.

What we need is a good direct injection gas or diesel with variable boost turbo and supercharger(s).

Drill the F out of ANWR and offshore, dig up all that oil shale and THEN see what happens to the price of oil!

If the Prez had a press conference and announced that he was signing an executive order to that effect you see the price of fuel drop on the global market by 20% in about 10 minutes. The great threat would be that of us become independent.
Congress and the Prez are fine examples of American Pussies.

exile posted world prices elsewhere. no one's that low.
we used to go to tecate for diesel back in the day. you do have to step up oil changes and it helps to run an aux. water separator. mexican gasoline, on the other hand, is not real great for an engine. you can tell by the smell of the oil that a vehicle has been run on mexican gas.

Motor, I just googled world prices, venezuela, .19 cents, turkmenistan .30,
iran, .42 kuwait .79 Saudi Arabia .45 Egypt 1.21 Gives an idea of what
the stuff is worth at the source. These are refined gas prices at the pump.

Let's just render the socialists down for biodiesel,,it'd be great for the environment in at least 2 ways. Take what's left and make soylent brown for the masses on the welfare tit. The downside would be that the exhaust and farts would probably both smell like bullshit!

the Solution is for the feds to drop all the added taxes they are hitting the end consumer with (Us) on fuel...... everyone is all excited about stimulus checks...... well just think if they kept those checks (its your tax money anyhow) and instead dropped the fed taxes on fuel....... elliminate the expense of policing the rest of the world and again use those saved billions to cut taxes..... Drop financial aid for EVERY non American 3rd world pisshole (let them and their neighbors fight it out) and use those saved $$ to further cut taxes

in very short order ya'll be back to $0.65 a gallon gas, can put more $$ into kids and preventing em growing up as gang bangers or getting pregnant at 13 etc.. BEFORE they are past the point of no return..... And use all the $$ being spent to buildup every other country to build up AMERICA instead......

Put the Military on the US borders and more cops trained specifically to deal with terrorist threats on the streets, and after the dust settles in the middle east from them blowing each other to crap....... make a deal with the winner for the oil as that will be all they have left after annihilating their neighbors. They try to carry the fight to US soil toast em at the border, a drug plane flying low over the USA / South american border...... let the airforce take em down... they are up to no good regardless or they wouldn't be tryin to sneak over so don't worry bout if its terrorist or drugs they both get the same response SIDEWINDER, don't bother tellin em to land on US soil so they can waste tax dollars in our legal system , "Turn back now or die" give em 30 seconds to comply then blow em outa the sky and be done with it, won't take long for the rest to get the hint..... a mule train sneaking across the desert? Let the 82nd deal with em as a hostile threat..... any survivors can crawl back to Mexico

You Guys want to shit a Brick?

A friend of mine from was raised in Pakistan and was a Ship captian for 20 years, he has lived all over the world and travelled to 70 different countries. He stated that in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, etc when you fill up, there is a jar next to the pump. You just put in what you think you should, usually a dollar or so, and thats it. The station attendent just empties the jar every so often.
