Default Cheek weld on a wire folder?

Just curios. Viewing pics of wire folder stock AK's I was wondering if there is any difficulty maintaining a good cheek weld with any consistency? How about the underfolders also? I have never handled either so I wouldn't know. Any thoughts?

I have an underfolder and its not too hard, but not too easy either to keep a cheek weld. Best thing is to get a red dot sight that is parallax free.

Not with Yugo UFs as the rails are in a direct line with the bore however with UFs from other countries.... yea it can be a pain and is why many people became biased against UFs including myself, shoulder a Yugo after shouldering a few from other countries and the difference is quite dramatic, I then wrap the Yugo left rail with paracord to cut down on branded cheek syndrome out here in Arizona it also helps with consistent head placement

The triangle folding stock gives a better cheek to stock weld, then the underfolder or the mono-strut folders.

Ive been thinking about making some sort of thin material that can go around the wire stocks, skeletons and underfolders that makes it softer on the cheek and still allows it to fold. I have something on my x-series stock on one of my FAL's that is amazing. That stock beats your cheek up but with the new pad it feels awesome. Id like something like this but smaller and thinner to alow folding etc... Here's a pic

Default I have a Polish and East German sidefolder

and following a military pic that I saw, I have tightly wrapped each with two layers of parachute cord. Works quite well, single layer close to the gun so as not to muck up the folder mechanism and double everywhere else.

The URL below will take you to a guide, with pictures, that shows one method of doing a para cord wrap on a wire side-folder.

Nymoshigh,
Yup, same prob on my side folder... Head just a wandering around over the wire stock.. Very uncomfortable... Have considered several options to remedy this, haven't tried any yet... Too lazy I guess, but cheek weld is non-existent and VERY uncomfortable...

I can get a better cheek weld on a wire folder then a underfolder. Though both just are not as good as a regular stock.

I am accepting donations of paracord to the Creator0203 Folder Foundation. Donations can be made in 5.5 foot sections
Fun times

The lack of cheek weld thing is a bit overblown. You would have no issues. FWIW, here is another site with a couple pics...
