I like BOTH kinds of music...Country AND Western!

Actually I like...no, LOVE it ALL! ...'cepts Rap...which has been done into the ground. It was interesting, rhythmically, for a time...but it went to seed a long time ago.

From Joe Pass to Jim Morrison, from Tom Waits to Grateful Dead, from old Hank Williams to Hank Williams Jr., 'Trane to Miles Davis...from Sinatra all the way on out to Black Sabbath.

Last night I found myself watching "Polka Joe" on RFD TV.

If its interesting...creative...fun...I'll give it a listen.

Depends on the mood I'm in.

I play guitar, have since I was 14. Started with 1950's C&W and folk music. I've played rhythm in a jazz "stage band", played in a couple of rock groups as a kid, lead worship services in Church.

...and made goo-goo eyes at girls while playing old love songs.

As ugly an old sack o' nails as I am...I don't think I EVER could have got a pretty gal to look at me...if it wasn't for music!

Favorties?? I like the harmonies of The Mamas and Pappas, I love John Sebastian and the Lovin' spoonful...

I like the simple beauty of John Michael Talbot.....

Tool, Type O-, Rob Zombie, Motorhead, Matisyahu. I like a lot of Indie stuff, and unusual alternative (Ween). BIG FAN of Celtic genre stuff too, everything from pipe bands to Enya. (Silly Wizard, Rare Air, Pogues ect.). I am a dabbler in the heavier stuff yet, Otep, Dimmu Borgir, mostly because I haven't found a band that caters to my tastes in "art-ier" music like Tool. That comes from listening to a lot of Rush, Yes, Zebra, Led Zep when I was a young pot head.

I listen to NPR at work 'cause it doesn't piss anyone off, they have pretty good news if your indoctrination filter is on, and I have recently found out I kinda like jazz.

It's easier to tell you what I don't like, Hip hop/Rap, Country & Western pretty much send me into a Berserker's rage, I hate that crap!

I even like a few of the old religious hymns too.

Ian

Ok "out" with it..!

You know you're a "closet" Culture Club fan.

Not that there's anything wrong with that..!
