Am I, or am I not, allowed to have a rifle or a shotgun, clearly on display, in a gun rack in my pickup truck?
Several of my neighbors at the farm (I farm on weekends, as a means to get away) which is in IA said that it needs to be in a case or a gun sock or otherwise covered. Are they correct about this? Do states restrict my right to display (i.e. BEAR) a weapon openly? |

Can't find anything that even remotely attempts to regulate open carry. Concealed upon my person - yes, there are provisions for permits. Looks like an AK in the pickup gun rack would be just fine as long as it is not in the school zone and is not accessable to my children while loaded. Which it isn't. What am I missing??? |

to be honest, i don't like the idea. just an excuse for some asswipe to break out your window. 25 years ago i did, but not any more. i really don't see anyone around here doing it like back then unless it's hunting season. hell, there was a time when you would see rifles and shotguns in window racks in the parking lots. but that was before stupid crack head hip hop, baggy pants skateboarders came along.

Nuts on Flop...
We used to park in the high school parking lot. Everyone always was looking for the guy with the 12 guage double....we admired those firearms. All we had hanging were 16 guage bolt actions from sears

I made some brackets on the inside of my car's roof. They hold a 12 gauge above the window line. I got a headliner for a car with a sunroof which my car doesn't have. When I park I pull the sunroof cover closed so the shotgun doesn't get stolen.
