Default Do you guys notch you selector lever for it to fit?

I was dicking around with putting my receiver together(pistol grip, bolt/carrier, trigger kit) to see how it would function, when I realized the selector lever wouldn't fit. I'm using an NDS-3, G2, and a Romy G kit. The lower tab on the "U" portion of the selector lever hits the disconnector when trying to push it in.

I went to my WASR for help, and it's selector has a notch cut out of the right side to clear the disconnector. I was able to put it in my builds, and it works like it should. If I'm not explaining it clear enough, I can get some pics up. Is it common practice to dremel out a bit of the selector for it to clear? Out of all the reading I've done on building, I've never heard of this.

The SAR is semi-auto so the selector for is semi-auto. The "G" has a full-auto selector and as such it will hit the disconnector when inserting it. You should be able to force it past. (Atleast on mine it does). As long as it does NOT hit it in safe or fire positions it will be OK.

Simple fix, install the selector before installing the trigger group, not after.

+1 on installing it first, also if ya pull the trigger while rotating the selector it will give ya enough clearance, ya can also leave the trigger axis pin part out so the trigger moves forward.

Much easier to just notch them. Afterall, Do you plan to make it FA in the near future?!!!

I can't se a reason to have to remove my FCG everytime I want to remove the selector lever!
I use the "Plate" instead of the damn shepards hook for my axis pins on the FCG so every few hundred rounds I fire, I remove everything from the inside of the reciever and give it a thourough cleaning. It's easier that way.

I think if your using a replacement plate type of Shepards hook you cannot install the selectors switch ahead of the trigger (outside of just not putting the pin through the trigger group) because it has to be secured by the selector switches post. So I have always managed to get it by them. Tight but did get it by manipulating the trigger and hammer.

++1 on installing it first. This is the way the group was designed.

I didn't know that!
Thanks, It just seems like more stuff in the way while you're trying to put the FCG in with the spring attached to it and the selector in there already.
I just ground mine down, similar to my old WASR but I left as much metal as possible.

Just push the selector all the way down and it is out of the way enough to get the parts in.
