Thumbs up Griffin Armament's AK FlashComp thoughts w/video

Long day at range. Got some video of the Griffin Armament AK FlashComp at dusk and no-light. Ammo was Wolf Performance. Rifle is OPAP.

Dusk 1: http://youtu.be/YXKLuYH-6EE

Dusk 2: http://youtu.be/iJlMb0gdEBM

No-light: http://youtu.be/q-3vUjCwo5Q

Feedback from others on the line were shock at how little side blast the FlashComp had. Everyone was surprised at how good a job it did with flash. You can see how flat it keeps the muzzle.

I did not know they made AK devices. I have the same FlashComp for an AR, and used it for about a year, did a decent job cutting flash, A2 bird cage was still better, and seem to cut recoil. Last summer I got my suppressor approved and removed it for their mount.

How's yours in cutting AK recoil ? One of these would be good for my PAP92 pistol if they made that mount.

I think it does a decent job. Recoil doesn't bother me. I'd rather have the sights/muzzle stay put.

You stole my mags bro, not cool. I'm gonna need those back. My old lady is gonna be pretty pissed, and you really don't want to deal with her when it comes to her gear. (She puts pink nail polish on the bottom of her Yugo mags in that exact spot to designate both hers, and 154gr SP for the AMD)

Back OT, Seems decent on flash, but still a good bit of motion. Not vertical, but it's there.

Yeah it still moves a bit (mostly straight back) but this isn't a straight up brake/comp. I'm pretty happy with the compromise it offers. It doesn't blast the shit out of the other guys on the line, the muzzle stays pretty flat and it provides an A2 level of flash suppression.

I recently put another 400 rounds through the AK FlashComp at Sage Dynamic's Defensive Rifle Fundamentals class. Still very happy with its performance. No complaints from my classmates about blast, even when asked. Now that AR guy with the AAC comp pinned to 14.5 was another story.

I'm using the FlashComp on a few of my 5.56 AR's. They work as advertised, and I'm glad to see them available for the AK... But it'd be nice to see a taper mount version so I could run a can.
