Pug Puppy, from reading different gun forums, it appears as if the supply of these magazines has mostly dried up. From what I've read, Interordnance used to have a boat load of these but no longer does.
You may have to pay a pretty penny to get your hands on these now. For example, here is a link to an auction selling four of these Weiger magazines with a carrier (this is the same set-up I have). And as of now, the bid is $95. Yikes! That's definitely more than I paid a year ago! But $95 really isn't a horrible price. Heck, I recently paid $90 for two 20-round Saiga .308 mags! Actually, it was $102 with shipping added in. The point being, things could be worse for you! http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...?Item=66815908 I think (but I'm not entirely sure) that the Yugo .223 mags sold by places like Ohio Rapid Fire will also work for you. But you'd have to confirm that with someone else. And even if they do work, at $36 a pop, they ain't cheap. But when you own an AK in .223, pricey mags come with the territory. The funny thing with the surplus firearms market is that what is plentiful today, could virtually disappear tomorrow. These Weiger magazines are a case in point. And I remember buying a Bulgarian Makarov about two years ago for $139. You'll pay $100 more than that now, when you can find one for sale. Knowing how the surplus market works, when I find what looks like a surplus bargain these days, I often jump right on it. For example, I recently bought a very nice CZ-82 from Aim Surplus for $240. That was a steal for the quality you get. (And Aim had some VERY nice CZ-82's. Mine looked as if it had never been fired!) And I wouldn't be at all surprised if a year or two from now, this same CZ-82 sells for around $350 or more. The lesson being, when you see a bargain, get it. Worst case scenario will usually be that you sell it a year or two later and break even. But with the firearms laws in this country trending in the direction they're trending, investments in most things firearm-related are a good bet. BTW, sorry for getting off topic. I hate when that happens! |

Good news. I was just browsing the Century International Arms website and saw that they have steel, "excellent condition" WASR-3 mags for $22.95. They also have "German .223 AK mags" (which I assume are Weigers, but you should ask them) for $26.95. I'd hurry if you're still interested. I haven't found anyone else selling these. |
