Unethical trade

What is the forum policy on someone mis reprensts something in a high dollar trade? Even to the point of saying gun is made by company 'A' while in truth gun was made by company 'C'..?
Do not like people doing flame jobs.But the gun was a 50/50 gun,in teh automotive world that means the car looked good at 50 ft. doing 50 mph.To put in context.
ALOT of important details were omitted by honest mistake or fraud.

I am at a loss i do not want to call the deputy sheriffs office there (yes it helps
its firearm fraud) its a felony.I know our CLEO Sheriff here asked him what to do he said give him a chance to make it right.

Any input would be of help

Okay where to begin
a.Gun was supposed only have had ABOUT 250 rounds down the pipe.NO WAY it was filthy,i mean like crusted up dirty on the side,gas tube and barrel.

b.Was supposed to be a Polytech was not.

c.The way someone welded the god awful bolts together to hold a loose grip on (3 bolts)

d. the stock itself was also rigged in a much better fashion,but did not use top tang on rec.

e.Cleaning rod had been ground down and i guess hammered into place when i finally got it out it was only 8 ins long and you could see the grind marks clear as day.

f. Where the Barrel meets the front block there is fresh grind marks where barrel goes in just a big bright shiny spot about the size of a quarter
g.someone had taken a hand grinder and once again god awful fashion wrote on the side MAK90.
H. the bolt of the rifle itself had surface rust.

I. This rifle was not shipped until the other partys dealer had my trade in his hands.

J. Went to gun shop here town (one that DOES NOT know me) asked them what it would be worth on the retail market they said maybe 550.00 if i cleaned and got the pistol grip tight.

k. Rifle minus buttplate told the one in the box with it would fit,did not even come close.

I traded away about 1200.00 to 1400.00 worth of ar for it.

so thats a lot to take in and if i look i will remeber something else.

Sorry to here that. Sounds like you have been rooked. At least give him a chance like Campybob said then launch all missiles if he doesnt respond or do anything. On another not i still cannot believe you can get $500 for it. That sounds crazy to me but Chinese AK's are exspensive!! Can someone PM me why?

I wish I had a dime everytime I read "only 200 rounds fired" on a for sale thread, I would be a millionaire by now.

I have seen some very early post 89 imports that were done in this manner, they were either done by the importer or the chinese, to take off the offensive AK-47 stamp, and put the PC marking, "modified AK-1990" MAK-90 in it's place. and added the thumbhole stock and cut the bayo lugs off. it sounds to me like you got a early post 89 import AK that was configured into a pistol grip configuration after it got here.


hate to say it, but the reality is when you do a private trade or sale, it is between you and the other party. only thing I see is that you write the other party and say you want your rifle back and you send him his.......other then that I don't see how the mods or this board can help you, except by e-mailing him and asking them to do the same........ your only option is to file a small claims action against him if he doesn't do that.

can you post pictures of this rifle? especially pictures of the receiver markings and build defects/

it sounds, by your description, to be crudely built.

if it's not a poly technologies build, 'who' built it? what, if any, other marking is on the receiver/front trunnion?

When i get home i will post pics.The ONLY reason i havent NUKED this guy is i talked to him 8-10 times before we got all done seemed like a regular guy.

My new rule is i must see the gun in my hand before i ship,thats what he did
and it pains me to think this was done with malice but cannot think of any other reason to hold the gun till mine showed.
I guess its you live and learn,now i understand why know people are a little crase when you deal with this stuff.
Been lucky never had a bad deal prior.
Like i e-mailed the guy,if he had TOLD me of these issues i would just said a polite no thanks.

You'd think he'd have said ship simultaneously on your mutual honor and follow up with a delivery confirmation number to prove all is ok.

My thought is to see how liberal his description could be read, and base your case on the areas that explicitly exceeded that description.

Also, if the model name or serial number has actually been altered and not by an authorized person, he's in big trouble. Changing a serial number for sure is a federal crime.

I remember your posts soliciting the trade - I wondered how that turned out. Sorry to hear things did not go well. Like I always say photo's first - and an inspection period for both sides. But then I stay away from trades like the plague. Cannot wait to see pics of the AK - sounds pretty bad.

Oh and they are right, I had a 90 and it was brand new - and super crudely hand engraved MAK-90 - looked like a little kid did the work.
