Was your kit wrapped in paper with red letters on it? I asked about the humped mag release in the other thread but didnt get an answer back.

All of the kits are wrapped in brown paper most of the bolt carriers are not painted . Finish can vary on the kits most are painted but a few have a grey parkerized finish. Most wood is laminate but we did see a few sporadic solid wood stock sets .

Was the bolt carrier painted or not? It is not painted
What kind of furniture did you have? Laminated
Also can you tell us how it was wrapped? Brown paper with red lettering on it.
It does have a humped mag release.

Thanks for response. I assumed all the kits where coming from the same place and this helps confirm that.

I was wanting a pmkms from the 70's but gave up on finding one. So I built the 85 kit and forgot about it. Then a kit with original barrel showed up on GB. It was missing the wood, PG, and gas tube. The price was right and I had all the missing parts except the gas tube. Apex had nos gas tubes so I bought one. When the kit arrived, to my surprise it was date stamped 1972.
The kit stayed on GB for a month and no one wanted it. He kept lowering the price. I guess the retards were afraid of it with missing parts. Having several Polish armorers kits, the only thing I had to buy was the gas tube and it was not numbered. When he dropped the price to $390, I snatched it. This was barely over a year ago.

ETA: Call Desert Fox and ask for Bachir. He will go thru the kits to get one you want.

Got mine from Desert Fox Sales today. Looks good at first glance. He hand picked hardwood for me so that was nice. The actual wood is nothing incredible though, and the lower guard seems uneven on the palm swells. I still appreciate the fact he hand picked for me.

The trunnion is a 69 with flat mag release. All numbers matching (Gas tube, sight leaf, bolt, carrier, safety, trunnion & recoil spring). I noticed no one mentioned the flat FSB on their kits. My bolt carrier is painted. Cleaning rod is unpainted and so is the recoil spring. Grip has raised diamond pattern and is not the real dark colored as seen on some of the previous kits. I would have preferred that to match the dark colored wood better.

Anyone know what the wrapping paper says?

Default My 1967

I ordered one of these kits, apparently just before they were sold out! It shipped out very quickly, and is a 1967. I would say it is in very good condition, all matching, the lower hand guard is a really dark reddish/brown color, and the pistol grip has some really nice color to it......

Your stock looks really nice compared to most. Looks like you got a muzzle nut I got a slant brake.

I guess since my other rifles have slant brakes I should be happy but I was a little bummed. Overall I am very happy with the kit.

The nut would be correct for the '67.

AK builder had some Polish Fixed stock kits in stock. Yesterday there was 35 and as of this afternoon they're all gone. They came with a chrome lined barrel @ 459 $ not bad. They still have some non chrome lined kits still for 455 $ In my opinion it saves a lot of trouble getting a kit with a barrel. But with the way things are now its hard to find kits at all so I guess you gotta get em while you can.

Will you please post the link? I have scoured their site and cannot find the kits we're talking about. All the links from this discussion return a 404 page not found error.
