I have a gen II m70 and haven't had any problems with it so far. Have about 300 rounds through it. They are solid.

I believe its easier for J&G and businesses a like to slap a bullet button on the damn rifle and ship without the mag to a Cali FFL instead of me and the rest of the pro 2A lads in Cali to just pick up and leave don't you think?!!! Thanks for the suggestion though my fellow pro gunner

Are these the newest generation of PAP rifles with the correct double-stack bolts and trunnions?

If so, I just might have to buy me one at that price.

I'm hoping so. Seems that most people buying these are reporting the right bolts/trunnions. That's why I bit.

I think I see one of these O-PAPs in my near future. It's a pity that they lack bayo lugs and Century puts all that dumb shit on the right side of the receiver, but these still look like damn nice rifles for the price.. can't hardly buy a fixed stock Yugo kit for less these days, and those are likely to have a shot-to-shit barrel. These PAPs are new.

Looks like the end of the panic and the price drops are here at last....

They wanted 899 during the panic and now its 300 dollars cheaper....If I didnt already have a bunch of M70's I'd get a few, its a good deal for that gun.....

I really want one of those factory new Zastava PAPs. Anyone know of any retailers selling them besides gunbroker / gunsamerica stuff?

To be clear I'm talking about one of these.

New...? It says used surplus parts. Or do you mean new as in the newest shipment?

I don't think that J&G's description is accurate. It wouldn't be the first time for that.

Afaik, all the "PAP" rifles and pistols are new production.

My PAP pistol sure as hell wasn't assembled by Century from any surplus parts, and if Century were building these rifles from old surplus parts, why wouldn't they use a gas block with bayo lugs and a gas-cut off lever with rifle grenade sight?

If anything's "used surplus" on the O-PAP, it's the furniture.

Uh, that rifle's like an O-PAP, only worse.. i.e. it has the railed dust cover and a single stack bolt and trunnion.

The more recently imported ones, (the ones J&G are selling), are just as factory new as the ones on that misleading page on Classic's site.

I see. Yeah I'm not a fan of the railed top cover at all, much prefer the regular cover with a side rail.

I may have to buy this now. Been looking for a third AK to finish out my collection and keep in it's classic configuration, and this would be a great one to do it with.

Seen these at the gun show, not at this price tho. No rear sling swivel. Just FYI.

Yeah, the one at JG sales is much better than the one at classic. To turn the one at JG sales into a "real" M70 will require the installation of a flip up night sight in the FSB (the FSB on it is made for the flip up sight but its not installed in it), an M70 rear sight w/flip up night sights, an M70 gas block w/the flip up grenade sight, and an original yugo pistol grip.

I really want one of these. Just have to find a ffl in the area that will do the transfer.

Yep.

Pretty minor, really.

Personally, I'll probably just swap the grip. At ~$600 for a new Serbian factory built rifle, imo ya can't lose.

Nothing, they accept double stack mags now unlike the older ones.

I'd like to order one of these, but I'm not sure of the differences between the PAP, NPAP and OPAP. I've searched, but came up with nothing. Anyone know?

The PAP designates the earliest imports; these came with the railed dust cover, slant-back receiver in many cases, and single-stack bolt and trunnion. Many of these have feeding problems with standard double-stack mags.

The N-PAP has the side optics rail, square back receiver, and I believe the double-stack bolt and trunnion for proper function with standard magazines. These have a AKM front trunnion, (non-bulged).

The O-PAP has all of the features of the N-PAP except they are built with the M70/RPK style heavy trunnion that most look for in a Yugo type AKM.

I just ordered me an O-PAP from J&G, (~$616 shipped to my FFL). I have a feeling these won't last too long at this price and I couldn't pass this deal up.
