Over the weekend, www.gunco.net signed up over 100 new members, a lot of whom are disgusted with Goonsnet.

Without beating a dead horse, I'd be curious to know how many people signed up for THIS board over the weekend because of their disgust with AK-47.net.

I was already a member, but I had only done a handful of posts this past weekend. Now with this board and gunco I feel like I've found two new "homes."

I signed for Gunco last week after I started reading about the crap that gunsnet has been doing. I will never visit that site again, hopefully (there still is a lot of good info on that forum, maybe someone will make a point to copy the good informational posts here).

I just found out that someone is trying to send me a private e-mail through Goonsnet and I can't access that either.

Whoever you are, if you follow this board, I can't answer you through Gunsnet.

I have not been able to log on to goonsnet, but I keep getting notices for the treads I have replyed to.

It keeps coming up the the server is busy.

bigblock: The same thing happened to me; I just reported each e-mail to Yahoo as "Spam" and Yahoo blocked them from sending me anything else.

I never thought I would say this, but I must not be active enough on the Internet. I read a lot more than I post and I just got started with AKs. What is the whole thing with gunsnet (and I assume AK-47.net as an extension)?

Back around uh, I dunno, way back....I discovered that ak47.net had been taken over by FUCKING MORONS from a place called gunsnet.

So I got banned right off, sometime in y2k.

Never, ever went back.

Gunsnet (and ak-47.net) is run by a wannabe Stalinist. His whole aim in life is to retire and live off the proceeds of gunsnet, so he does not let anybody interfer with that dream. If you diss one of his paid sponsers, you get banned. If you disagree with his pronouncements, you get banned. If you bring up the gooch fiasco and gunsnets responsibility, you get banned. If you mention K-Var, you get banned. If you vocally object to his frequent bullying of the members and the disrespect he shows to members in the forums, you get banned. Oh Yeah, any threads you started on the subject will be deleted also. He must live on the net 24/7, cause he is VERY fast on the delet button. I once started a thread asking if he still banned people for BS reasons. It was deleted and I was banned in 45 seconds. I timed it.

It's almost better to not be a member and just cruise what forums you can see. Anything else you can get here, AR15.com, Gunco.net, or many other places for free and without hassle of being banned for asking the wrong question.

There are great people over there though.

I look at the other forums vs. Goonsnet like the "Field of Dreams:" Build it and they will come.

Be so good and so informative and so interesting on the other forums that the Goonsnet members follow you to the other forums.

I'm not bragging, but it will probably sound like it. When I got banned from Goonsnet and started showing up on other forums I actually got a handful of e-mails from people saying they were glad they found me and they had followed me to the other forums. That made me realize that there were people I followed too (I'm not gonna name 'em all!): SangRun Hunter, mbakercad, USMC03, SSR99, AK-Fan, mack8384, etc.

(Of course, my fifteen minutes of fame ended tragically. I immediately became an insufferable egomaniac. My hotel rooms were no longer good enough; I demanded that my agent PEEL my M & M's before I ate them. I became a drug star and rock & roll addict, burned out early, and now I drive golf-carts for elderly people in Florida....BUT...I digress...)
