Brain storming! Well, maybe

There are so many of us here on this web that I have just got to pose this question: What if AK FILES started there own ammo bank? Would that be cool or what. You get a little low and need some ammo, You email your request to an administrator which then could shoot it to a whole sale company that the forum has an agreement with. You send the cash to the admin or whoever and its drop shipped right to your door in a few days. Could you imagine the bargaining power that we would have when we went to "Wolf" or whoever and made a monthly order of Thousands of rounds of ammo at discounted rates. And lets not limit it to just AK ammo. Lets get other popular calibers that people here like to shoot too. We could do it like an on-line orderform preloaded with your info and all you have to do is check the boxes next to the calibers you want and send the funds...

I second it. I think that it would be an excellent way to obtain and maintain an ammunition supply through numbers of members and so forth. I am not up on the legalities on such a proposal to this idea cause I myself am a simple man and hate politics and the likes of it. But to all that is in to the legal aspects, and laws, that govern such a move, and just what is involved with this idea, Let's hear your input...I'm listening, and I'm sure we all got Tmorris's attention since this is his brainchild of an idea. Very Interested in responses to this....Ken from Pa.

If the site went through a third party the prices wouldn't change. AKFiles would have to buy it all in bulk THEN offer the price reduction from quantity purchases to the masses.

Not to be disrespectful, but in the very recent past, the staff hasn't really been omnipresent here. So unless they beefed up their staffing membership I doubt orders would be filled in a timely manner. Who's gonna foot the overhead of the bulk buy? Also, what's in it for them? Grattitude? A pat on the back and a job well done?

In order to make it a worthwhile venture for them they'd have to take a fair cut of the monies, then be accused after of the inevitable "Oh, you price-gouging SOBs!" by the many who'd complain about getting a good deal just to see if they could get the prices down further. There are always those audacious enough to look a gifthorse right in the mouth and spit.

Not to mention this would make the site a legitimate business, which would make it susceptible to monthly or quarterly taxes due (not sure, I do not own my own business), state shipping restrictions, age verification, and hardcopy transaction logging for minimum of a few years, ect. I'm probably leaving a few things out, too.

So, if you put the Admin shoes on for a minute... it doesn't really sound so appealing. Lots of work for not much in return.

Just playing Devil's Advocate here, since we're brainstorming and all... I really wish it could be so much easier. On paper it sounds great... until you look at the flipside of it.
