Question from an AK guy

Ok I'm pretty much set with ak's now I want a Romak III or any dragunov clone. Does anybody know where I can get one cheap, thanks in advance.

The only variant that is even close to "cheap" are the Romak III PSL rifles. These are not true Dragunov actions. The Russian and Chinese versions are multi thousand dollar weapons. I suggest you do some research. For a Romak PSL it depends on what you consider cheap. Southern Ohio Gun offers the unscoped version for $495.00. Pretty cheap when compared to an average AK cost. You will have a 3 to 5 month wait. If you get on their list you do not pay or commit until the rifle is actually in stock.

I just saw a Russian Tigr in 7.62x54R for $2000.I have seen them for less,but not much less.

That third link is a deal to run away from IMHO. Battlefield pick-up???? I don't think so. Way too high for a beat up Canadian sneak.

I don't know what your finances are like, but if it were me, I'd look for a used Tiger over a Romak. The reason being, the Romaks are still available and coming in whereas the Tigers are not. From time to time you find them in the $1200-$1500 range. A few hundred dollars more and you can have military stocks and a flash hider shipped over from Russia as well.

From a collector's standpoint, the Tiger is a better investment. If you just want a 54R shooter, then get in line for a Romak. I'll eventually get around to getting a Romak one of these days, but I just have too many projects right now to look into getting one together.
