I son't what they are worth.I know some have original Soviet barrels, some have new replacement barrels and some have relined barrels.
Maybe this will help to make sure it is Fninish issue. http://mosinnagant.net/finland/FinlandsM9130Rifle.asp http://mosinnagant.net/finland/default.asp http://www.surplusrifle.com/finnishmosin/index.asp http://mosinnagant.net/ http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinMarks02.htm http://www.fortunecity.com/meltingpo...616/fin39.html http://www.building-tux.com/dsmjd/tech/m1891m-n.htm http://www.winterwar.com/Weapons/Fin.../FinRifles.htm http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinMarks.htm |

As far as I know, the Finns didn't build their own M91/30s until '43 (they built M91s, which are an entirely different critter, before that time). If it is dated 1942 then what you may be looking at could either be a Russian 91/30 that the Finns captured, in this case it should bear either the mark of the Tula or Izhevsk arsenal (arrow in star or arrow in triangle respectively) and have an 'SA' stamp in a box somewhere on it. If not one of those, it may well be a Finn manufactured M91. What is the rear sight like and what do the markings on the barrel shank look like? If the rear sight base is smooth and the leaf is straight and metered our to '20' (2000 meters) and it bears Tula or Izhevsk markings on the barrel shank then it is a Russian rifle the Finns captured, if the rear sight base has what looks like 'saw tooths' and the leaf is curved slightly and has the range markings on the sight base (usually out to about 800 meters) and the Tula or Izhevsk marks don't appear then you most likely have a Finn manufactured M91. Hope that helps some.

Well, the first 91 Mosin rifle the Finns obtained, captured,
confiscated was the modl 91, The later Mosins were the 1.5-2" shorter 91/30 rifles. Known by some as the Dragoon Mosins. The Finns made none of the Mosins, The Germans supplied them some Gewehr and CZ24 Bruno Mausers. The 7.62x 54R I.D. site on AK47, is great! You can get the length, there.
