Default Century arms to import Zastava M77 PS Semi-Auto Rifle, Cal. .308

Thought this was rather interesting. An Ak style rifle in .308 coming out of the Zastava plant. The firnature is rather ugly, but Zastava makes damn good rifles. The .308 option must be to satisfy the American consumer since they used 8 mm and 7.62x39 for military personal.

Zastava has been making .308 guns for years, at least 20+ . Mitchell imported them prior to the 89 ban.

I have one I posted about previoulsy. It is very well made. I added an ACE folding stock, US brake (I have a US made M90 brake on the way), US pistol grip, and G2 FCG. I finally found some 20 round mags. They arrived today and fit and hand cylce perfectly. I hope to range test them this weekend.

Hell yes. When do they expect them to hit U.S. shores?

It really is solid and well made. I don't think many have come in so far and I bet the price will go up IF more do. I paid $85 each for the mags. They price was higher than I wanted, but I was wasting too much time searching for them- every night! I am just happy to have found them and they fit perfectly. Let me know if you want the link.

Looks cool, but I already have my FAL for .308, especially if it's going to be over $800

Can you find a good FAL for around $800?

Man I wish it wasn't a slant back. I do NOT have anything in .308, yet. And the Mitchell's are @#$% priced. Was thinking a VEPR in 7.62x54r or .308 now they got the straight receiver, but this throws a wrench in that idea. AHHHH. .308 is so $$$$ too. I wonder if they have any plans to import a PAP in 7.62x54r?

You have to be registered as an FFL or FFL 03 to be able to buy from Century. The strange part is no price is listed for me at this time and I can order from them. I will have to call my sales rep.

Not sure. I looked everywhere for weeks. I saw threads/posts for a USA made group buy that were from 6 or 7 years ago, which seems to have sold out. I got this one from a WTB on another site's EE from a member for $20. Who ever made it did an excellent job. If you need one PM me and I will see if the guy I got mine from has another or knows where to get one.

I ran 100 rds of American Eagle red box through it today through both 20rd mags and 2 10rd mags. Not a single problem. I was indoors at < 50 yards, so I will report back later when I can try some distance outside. I ordered another 20rd mag tonight. My next project is a mount and optics. I love this thing.

Looks like they come with the siderail mount, thats nice since my zastava M70 7.62x39 didn't have that. I would like something for longer range and AR prices are pretty much ridiculous.

I got one coming in tomorrow to my FFL. I liked the idea of the 20rd factory mags available and adjustable gas system.. and the fact it has the standard ak handgaurds over the vepr. I do love the veprs but straight comparison .308 to .308 obviously I'd take the zastava. And I can't forget to mention I also got the zastava for 300 less than current price of the vepr so that also played a major role in my decision.

Why can they just lose the slant back receivers?
