Default Cabelas Herters brand 7.62x39 on sale

The FMJ and hollow point is on sale for $3.99 a box right now. There is a store near me so I have to pay sales tax but its still the cheapest I've found recently.

It's back up to 4.29 a box this morning. Still not a bad deal if you get the free shipping.

There are better deals on the net. SGAmmo has 7.62X39 500 rounds for $125.00 shipped!

Uh, 500 is 107.25 with free shipping on your Cabelas card. It depends on if they charge you sales tax and what your tax rate is.

It's no longer for $3.99, it's back to $4.29 which is still a great deal

yes it is actually, you get speciall coupons like $20 no minimum or free shipping for $49 order and so on on top of the already 10% automatic discount you get just for being a member ($29.99 membership fee per year). I like it, the only issue now for me and whoever lives in Cali is that we have to pay Tax on both the merchandise and the shipping cause of Amazon and SPG affiliation with Amazon

A salesman at Cabella's told me Herters and Wolf are the same ammo just with different names. He said they come from the same factory and everything. I asked him why they would change their name, and he said it's because Wolf has a reputation for being dirty Ammo and a name change helped their image.
Don't know how true this is, but fwiw.

Sportsman's Guide sent me moldy ammo (S&B 308) in the past. Buyer beware.

PLUS, they sell your address to all sorts of strange businesses. I won't deal with those schmucks again.

If you look, Cabela's has the heavy, SP ammo @ $4.25/box. Also the HP ammo. That's good stuff!

I've bought 3840 rd of 5.45x39 from Sportsman's Guide and they are all in great condition and they included a spam can opener with each spam can I ordered not like most of ammo shops that they demand you buy two so they would include a can opener. In regards to 7.62x39, I bought them from Cabela's for $3.99+ $5 shipping, unfortunately that deal expired last weekend BUT they are still cheap ($4.29 + $5 shipping), I bought another 500 rds just for the hell of it

That looks like the "Non-Corrosive" that turned out to be corrosive ammo. There are a few threads here about that stuff. I wonder if the newer production is better. those prices are very tempting.

I'd rather give Cabelas $100 than give Rguns $50. Hell, I wouldn't give them a dime.

Just my experience with them. Lots of others also.

at this moment, Cabela's deal is better than anything online (total with shipping) IMHO. Even Walmart sells Tullammo for $4.97+ tax so Cabela's again for now is the way to go

I received my Herters from Cabelas today. I'm happy with what I got. It is poly coated but no sealed primers or bullets. Just saying...

Let me know how you enjoy the PILES of junk mail they start sending you. Also, you may notice some "Hunting Outfitters" sending you junk mail with photos of hunting gear with YOUR last name embroidered on it, etc. This is a company SG is in bed with. F that.

Also, unless you are in the "Buyer's Club," they'll bug the pi$$ out of you to join it, too.

I'll pass. Yeah, their prices may seem great, but I am still ass hurt over the moldy S&B .308 they sent, and the SIX TO SEVEN pieces of gun-related junk mail I get from them (and those who they sold my address to) each month.

I ordered from Widener's and AIM for years, and never got a SINGLE piece of junk mail until I ordered one item from Sportsman's Greed.

I'll pass...

Cabela's price is pretty great, though, especially for the soft-point ammo, which is a GREAT defensive round for SHTF, IMO.

I just got back from cabela's. Nice to look around, had tons of Herters/Tulammo. Was able to get 154gr SPs for $4.29 for 20rd box. Not too bad since I havn't been able to find 154gr SPs, even on SGAmmo.

Seems the prices at the Ft Worth Cabelas was less than the online prices on various ammo. The Federal ammo can of .22lr was $5 less than the online price. Can't complain.
