I saw this at the local shop this weekend and told them to put my name on it.
I went back and picked it up today. I paid $200 I have never seen another one for sale, but I knew it had to be a good price It's a Norinco BWK-92 Sporter (only came in .223) Time to get enough US parts so I can take off the thumbhole stock.. I am looking for some 30 round mags if anyone has any Pictures were taken with mags from my AK74 ![]()

Well l'll have to say it looks very nice. The stock on it has a much better look than the older style.
l wonder about the gas port going up to the piston though. lt looks like it has the older AKM style gas block, which is angled, and from what l've read 5.45 and 5.56 AK's should have the steeper 90-degree-angle AK74 style gas block. Maybe the chinese have a different variation on that design though...or maybe it's more of a big deal with a 5.45 than a 5.56. l dunno. But l do like it, and that was outstanding buy for the price. |

The Chinese 223 AK's have the standard slanted gas block. The biggest problem with the Chinese 223 AK's is the gas port in the barrel is same size as the 7.62x39 rifle. The 223 cartridge produces more pressure and the large port causes excess bolt carrier recoil/speed.223 AK's from other countries normally have smaller gas ports in the barrels. Some people weld up the Chinese ones and redrill them to a smaller diameter.Maybe one of those recoil buffers would help.

I have the same gun and the only problem I've had with it was a weak main spring. I switched to a Bulgarian spring and it works flawlessy; I just wish I got mine for $200 : )
