5.45x39 is going fast

The 5.45x39 is down to 13 cases and they show 44 individual cans. I've been watching the inventory drop for the last few days. About 20 cases a day are being sold. I suspect that the cases will be all gone by this time tomorrow.

not having trouble finding it locally at 24 cents a round for new production Tula or 15 cents a round for surplus. our vendor here Dan still has surplus 5.45x39 ammo.

They drop and update as time goes. Example: Golden Tiger was down to 8 cases a day or so ago, 108 of them now.

Exactly. It is selling fast, but most stuff is back in stock within a few days. I guess the only question is, when will it stop being restocked?

I think he was referring to GT 7.62x39, which they sell a lot of.

outside of online, i can't find any 5.45X39, period. I'm bumming as my AK-74 is my favorite AK i own. Funny thing was 8 months ago my local dealer had a crap ton and I was loving life.. Now they just won't carry it..

They are down to 7 cases and 44 tins of the 5.45x39.

Ammo is starting to sell. I have sold several tins of 30-06 local.

3 years ago you could buy a tin of 192 rnds of greek HXP for $79 per tin. There selling for $170 a tin. We are not even close to elections .

They are up to 26 cases of single tins now. Inventory always fluctuates I beleive the current supply is steady atm and prices shouldnt change much for a few months.

Rather then speculate why doesn't anyone ask them. I spoke with aim and weidners and both said 5.45 and 54r are no problem to get at all. They also told me that yugo will be coming back in Oct., but will be more than 300 a case. For some reason (election) pistol ammo is the real issue. Course people keep lighting fires and come October. .22 lr and everything else will be impossible to get like last election because people think the world is going to burn. Let's hope not haven't got my svd and sig 938 yet.

20 individual cans and 10 cases.

Does anyone think that they might have put the cans into an empty crate just to sell it? Because, they were reporting 7 cases before and now it's up to 10.

I asked about SGAmmo carrying GT 5.45x39 (by email), since I got a few cases from them a few years ago, and got a reply back from Sam saying that the importer last time lost a lot of money due to lack of interest and was unlikely to do it again. Might want to drop them an email at "ammunitioncenter@yahoo.com" they can pass along to the importer telling them you're interested in GT 5.45x39 if you'd like to see the chances of them carrying it again go up.

All ammo is selling quick, but it's stocking up just as fast too. There is plenty of ammo for everyone. On that note though, I just ordered 1000 rounds of Hornady VMAX 5.45x39 to try out. I have a good bit of Russian made 5.45x39 hollow points, but I'd like to try out this Hornady stuff as well even though it's double the price. I hear it makes a great SD round.

Today (4-26-12/0920 hrs Pac Time) the web site shows 16 individual cans and 1 case.

BUT..........

I've been informed/told (on another web site) that SGAmmo might just be posting inventory numbers from "batches." So, the number could go up IF another "batch" is put up for sale. That person said.........

So, it may read "10 cans" one day, and you go back a few days later and it'll read "40 cans".

I guess I might have been suckered into a panic buy. Oh well........that last case I bought is being paid for with tax return money.

Where did you get it in bulk? I've only seen it at gun shows at close to $1.00 a pop.

I was curious so i called AIM again and spoke with one of their customer service people. He told me more 5.45x39 is on the way but won't be in for a month. Again 54r is very easy to get. Lastly I asked if they would carry golden tiger. He stated that people seem to want the cheapest to be had so they won't carry it and instead carry wolf and bear. I feel the quality or wolf & bear has declined compared to golden tiger. I love that AIM carries priv partisan the .40 s&w shoots better than any federal or winchester and the 9x18 is great. I would almost compare it to hornady. Insterestingly enough Priv is supplying brass cases for hornady now....that speaks for itself.

Ya. I recently pulled the trigger on buying some 7N6 a few weeks ago on SGAmmo. The same scenario happened. Watched it over the course of a few days, waited, waited and waited some more and then I bought some when there were less than 10 cans left. Checked two days later and there were almost a 100 cans available. Good tactic on their part.

I would advise caution when dealing with ammunitionstore.com,it seems they have inventory control problems and you can totally dismiss the figure for what is in stock,extremely unreliable.

per tin +/- ., not per case.

Kinda funny that some folks are just now realizing there is an upcoming election and it is just about panic time and not the time to buy ammunition or firerams in most cases. That was last year.

Funny that the OP of this thread only has 12 posts and most of them from this thread. He also only refers to one website as to his proof that 5.45 is drying up. Almost as if he works for that site or is the owner. Something stinks here
