By Nick Sas - The West Australian - April 18, 2012
Once relegated to bourbon-soaked bars filled with leery-eyed men, the world of lap dancing has emerged from seedy back alleys into a legitimate sport. So much so that, according to WA lap dancing luminaries, the sport's best could be competing at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics. A few Australian lap dancers, including WA's Tammy Baxter, are travelling to London in July to perform their five-minute routines in front of Olympic committee members at the world lap sport championships. For many, the thought of lap dancing as a sport - let alone an Olympic sport - is questionable. But Lap Fever Malaga owner Sabrina Walker says there is a simple remedy to this. "Just try it," she said. "My husband can't even lift himself up." Ms Walker has been involved in the sport for more than 20 years. She said "lap" as an Olympic sport was not as far-fetched as many might think because the sport was basically "gymnastics . . . with a lap". "The competitors will do a five-minute routine, including spins and different manoeuvres," she said. "It takes a lot of strength and flexibility." Ms Walker said business at the Malaga studio was booming. WA competitive lap dancer Tammy Baxter said she had her fingers crossed that she could one day take "the gold in lap" for Australia at the Olympics. http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-...s-on-olympics/

I had a few lap dances when I was younger man and the girls were basically trying to... how shall I say this... stimulate me to completion by rapidly grinding their crotch on my lap. I've always figured that was the whole idea. I've even seen where the girls actually use their hands to rub you out, over the pants of course.
An Olympic sport? So what's next after lap dancing gets accepted? Falatio?

Never had a lap dance. Dont ever want one. In fact, "Gentlemen's clubs" do not appeal to me at all.
The girls there are somebody's daughters. And if Somebody had been a better dad or mom, they probably wouldn't be there. I also see no sense on going to some place like that to just look. Total waste of money. |

Well why not? They let just about anything be an Olympic sport. At least this would probably be more fun to watch than Olympic wall painting.

And how is this to be judged? A 3rd person perspective of a lap dance is just creepy.
