Default The Kalashnikov Syndrome

What is it with this disease? How do I always end up with an extra one in my safe, I really think I have a problem? Am I alone? Bought my first one in 2007, a WASR GP 10/63, and it has all gone down hill. I wanted a semi auto 12 gauge, I bought a Saiga 12, I wanted a long range rifle, I picked up a PSL, I wanted another handgun, came home with a Draco C, wanted a folding stock rifle and got an AMD-65... well you get the point. When will it end, when will it ever be good enough? Speaking of which, anyone have the Saiga IZ-332, I'm looking to buy one when tax returns are all finished up I must admit, if this is my disease, I'm really enjoying being sick!

My name is Jimmy, and I have a problem.

Aren't tax returns great..... The govt gives you your money back so we all can buy guns and ammo to protect ourselves from a govt spinning out of control.....

It just starts, when you start analyzing, what specific function weapons you need to survive and snowballs from there! Last Prez election, was enough to prompt you, before prices take off on weapons and ammo.

It really starts to piss you off when you realize the gun safe you purchased a couple of years ago ends up way to small!

I'm scared... Everything you guys said is either true or stuff I have recently thought about. I'm just glad I'm not the only one out there, I feel so at home! As for the meeting, same spot and time next week, I'll bring the milk and cookies.

Wait until your couple of Eastern European AKs start humping and make a Chinese or Egyptian baby! Now that's messed up!

Another sufferer here. Bought my first AKM, a Maadi ARM postban, 20yrs ago. Only fired maybe 200 rds in all those yrs. Then about 9mos ago it hit me, real hard! Since then i've aquired 9 more(type 56,Kassnar,custom yugo RPK from a well known member here, etc etc). Looking for a Polytech Legend after i get an AES-10B i've had my eyes on. I feel your pain.

You guys are reminding me of what I don't have yet, and what's about to happen! Ahhh! Better start putting in overtime, best of luck to my AKbrothers and quite possibly sisters?!?! May we fight our temptations and get control of ourselves... Well after our collection is complete.

Just when you think it's safe for the wife to go in the basement and not see anything,...you realize that all the safes are so full they fall out when you open the door, and you shake you fist in vain at the AK god, and you come home from the gun shows, with some killer deals. And you have to wait till the wife goes out and you hurry it to the basement.......

Default Hope everyone has at least one of each weapon they want w/ammo!!

Hope everyone has pretty much what they need, low end WASR's have gone up a $100 over the last year. This time last year Draco's were going for $329, now almost impossible to find, if you do they're $439 or more.

Thank God my wife caught the disease too. We had to convert the closet into a gun safe, not to mention the his and hers on each side of the bed!! I shouldn't post this but my wife now has more hand guns than I do. I still have her beat in the rifle department.

I'm just now getting over it, I look at different forums ,magazines and auction sites and there isn't much to get excited about anymore for me . Am I going to sell any of my items ? No,am I going to buy anymore ? I doubt it.

I already bought most of what I'm going to buy. The Curio and Relics boom is ending, and the AK kits are mostly gone. I bought up a pile of parts kits, and am leisurely building them. I have one on the bench right now, and I'm working on headspacing it. While I won't likely be buying more guns, I'm sure as hell going to be adding to my collection - each time a finished AK rolls off my bench.

We'll see though. There might be another wave of kits and C&Rs coming into the country, and if so I'll be right there in line to buy up more. I think my count now is around 120 guns of all types including the Martini-Henrys I'm slowly restoring. I have about 40 kits set back, but it would make me feel better if I had more. I could run out one day!
