Default WTK: Are there any commercial receivers with both Y stampings?

I'm going to demil my 1971 Romanian WASR 10/63 UF and put it in a more correct receiver and make it a wood stock version. The kit is in excellent shape with mostly matching parts. It deserves a better home than the WASR receiver it sports now. I'd like to replicate the full auto pin but would need the extra Y and the groove in the right spot. I was looking at my copy of G&A Complete book of the AK47, and on page 40, it shows an AK74 that a gunsmith made to look like it has the third pin. It only shows the right side, but you can clearly see the groove that the pin sits in right above the mag catch. I want to do that also but with my Romanian 47. Does anyone out there make one?

You need to hop over to the AK Forum and look at the vendor forum for Dave 74ullc. He makes the best looking receivers and they have the marks you are looking for. He has in the past done fake third pins for folks..

David Riggs @ 74Ullc
The Md65 Romanian underfolder example is my kit build on his custom receiver.

FNnuts,

Before you demill the rifle, contact ATF Technical Branch and ask what you can do with the front trunion. Because the front trunion has the serial number that was used for importing the rifle, and is the serial number for tracking the rifle, there needs to be answer if this trunion can be re-used in a rebuild with a U.S. receiver, that also has its own serial number.

Depends what state you live in too. I live in Virginia and I was going to do exactly that next week. I doubt that should be a problem. Now I think technically we're supposed to demill the receiver too, but I probably wont.

I would most definitely cut the receiver up in the demilling process. As HarlanNDS said, the original rifle serial number is the one that is tagged with this rifle and the receiver doesn't have one so it couldn't be transferred to another individual legally. I would take plenty of photos showing the receiver being cut up and destroyed per current ATF demilling regs. I'll call the local ATF branch and see what the rules are.
