I only have ten 880rd crates of it because its mainly for 2 guns (the Browning 1919s). My mosins and my PSL dont need much, one 440rd tin would be good enough for them. I dont need as much x54 as I do x39 which is why the vast majority of my crates of ammo are x39 yugo surplus....

The Armory still has the 880 rd crate for $135.99,shipped to me (western PA) total was $156.46. The further you are from the east coast, the more it's gonna cost.

SG ammo is the best deal for me after shipping because I'm WAY west of the mississippi and most of the Ammo suppliers are on the east coast. 164.99 shipped (139.99 +25 shipping) is real good deal for where I'm at. 162.99 shipped if you buy 2 cases or more.

For the same money or better after shipping the ammo from SG ammo comes in nice tins, not rusty.

Damn, they must have changed it today, it was still 139.99 yesterday. Oh well, at least it only went up 5 bucks instead of 50....

My tins had very light corrosion and were not shedding any rust. Ammo inside was clean as the day the soviet citizens put em in there. We cut a deal where we basically didn't pay shipping

Copes it will be for me. I just ordered a case of 5.45x39 from SGA yesterday, so I called and I wanted to see if they would price match Copes on the 7.62x54R the lady on the phone said no dice.

I just got some from Copes. With the flat $9.95 shipping per order it works out best for me.

4 of the 5 tins I got were in great shape. The 5th one had lots of surface rust. I am happy with what I got, much better looking than I expected it to be.
I would order more if they had it.

I had to pop the stacked cans that I got loose from on another with a wide dull chisle, it was like they were stacked together while the paint was wet

You got short changed. My rusty can arrived today and it was gloriously rusty. So rusty I opened it in the shipping box to keep it from getting all over the floor. It made getting it open easier. Inside, the rounds were bright and shiney and look new. But yeah, they owe you some iron oxide.

Ya know I wonder about that paint and what the heck the Soviets put in it. I sometimes use these tins to boils parts clean. I'll fill with water, put on my turkey fryer burner outside and boil disassemble mags or whatever is coated with cosmoline to clean. After an hour on an open flame and a few refills with water I notice the paint doesn't show the least affect of being affected by having been burnt. No carbon - nothing. I don't guess those folks had anything like an EPA regulating industrial chemicals such as paints - Kinda creepy.

The Fleet Farm stores, at least in southeastern WI, have 440 rounds in cans for $84 each.

They also have the Yugo M67 in the green crate/spam can for $249.95 on sale.

Honestly, I have no idea; it's a farm supply type store more than anything else. Try and see if you can locate Mills Fleet Farm online and go from there.

Has anyone had any accuracy issues with the light ball? I just took arecently acquired Mosin with almost new rifling out for a shooting session, and it would not group at all. Further investigation may be necessary.
