Default PSL Assembled Barrel

Hi, all. I have a non-matching PSL kit from Centerfire. I purchased the assembled barrel to go with it. It's really assembled. The rear sight block is on and pinned as well as the gas port and front sight block. The lower guard retainer is on and the groove is cut as well. I think the gas hole is also drilled.

I am really hoping I can just put the barrel in, headspace correctly, then pin it the barrel, oversizing if necessary. What are the chances of that happening? If I do have to take things apart and reassemble, and I going to have to essentially oversize all the other pinning holes?

Everthing should be ok but make sure you check the headspace and also the sights that they are not canted.... Post a pic if you have one...Headspacing is not that hard but make sure you use some good gauges...There is a Video on youtube on Headspacing a non matching barrel if you need any help..

I don't see a reason for oversizing the pin holes, except for perhaps the trunnion hole if the headspacing isn't quite correct.

Since this is a non-matching trunnion and barrel with a rear sight block already attached, I just hope when all is said and done the rear sight block will be flushed against the trunnion and receiver with no a gap.

Normally not an issue as headspacing is in increments of .000's" and any gap should be minor and correctable by certain tweaks.
Really a lot of other more important build issues like pressing in the barrel., headspacing, pinning., riveting, mag lock up etc., etc,

The biggest issue you will have is the head space and the top cover fitment. The last mixmaster PSL I did the t-cover was too long by almost 1/8 inch because of the rear sight block position after head space was set.The sight block notch was kissing the trunnion. It can easily go the other way with it too loose.

I usually have to go with an oversized pin on mismatched PSL kits, as they almost never line up. Other Com block arsenal sometime do, but out of six mismatched PSL kits only one lined up.

Hello member from Fantasy ... Jdoming728 ... we're just around the corner in Vegas.

Do you weld? Attempting to pick up a argon cylinder over there ... curious if you have delt with any of the vendors in SF ...

as far as 54r gauges ... may use the tape method ...

I got Guages here in Santa fe be more than happy to help PM me if you need thats is if you in Las Vegas NM......You can do it two ways If you let me know when you in Santa fe I can check the headspace for you and tell you what and how to do it or you can simply take and use my gauges and return them the next week you in Santa fe.... Or if you now comfortable doing it give me the barrel and trunnion and Ill do it for you...Opps I got lost... Yes I weld but I have a brother in law who works at the Labs who is better than me so he does all the hard stuff for me I do have a Mig and do my builds with it..I deal with Mattason Gas in Santa fe on Pacheco and San Mateo other than them its US Gas in Alb if need any of the tuff stuff...... Man I miss Nitrous Oxide......Opps did I say that or am I just thinking it.....As far as the Tape Method its a good base but I wouldn't put anything next to my face unless I checked it with real gauges and the 60 bucks are much less if you have to replace those expensive Ray-Bans or an eye or a nose or........Think of holding it between your legs and shooting it.... I bet you'll change your mind...

Let me know
