Ok great. I'm looking for two of them. One for the SBR, and one for the registered FA. Price on these chrome barrels?

probably your best bet to get your questions answered is to call them instead of trying to do it on here, they get hundreds of emails and calls per day, lol been there done that with them.

Anybody heard anything about Atlantic Firearms shipping their M-85 kits yet? I was just wondering when I can start the build on a chrome lined barrel instead of the nonchromed versions out there?

I called Atlantic Firearms Friday afternoon to get a timeline on the M85 barrels. I was told they have received tracking info on the barrels from the chrome shop! Now to decide to order or wait and pray for the price to come down a bit!

If you want one you better get it. There is not an endless supply of these and they are getting bought up pretty fast so i doubt you see the prices come down much if at all.

Price to come down? lol. They won't. Honestly that price is already cheap for an M92 / M85. Just buy it man.

Yeah, I don't think the price will come down much; but........ Who remembers hearing rumors about lots-o'-stuff sitting in country? I'm not saying I believed it then (wanted to though), but kit supplies seem to keep popping up. Theses are virgin kits. I recall seeing virgin M70, M72 & M92 kits all over the place! The M85 kits are a different story though. I ordered mine!

Time to clean off the work bench & get ready to get started on the M85 build ! I see on another gunboard where the M85's have the same mods to the mag release system as the M95A's needed to feed correctly in the Nodak & flat receivers!

Altlantic Firearms posted on another forum that the barrels they are getting in are for the parts kits. Maybe in the future.

Hey, we got the same info for shipping from Atlantic Firearms! Mine should be here tomorrow, the 1st unless the Fed Ex driver gets lost! Will report what the kit is like, but I bet it matches the M85 kit I already have, just with all the accessories to make a much sweeter deal!

I got mine today also. Did a quick check on the fitment of the barrel components. They slide right on so a bit of knurling or a little sandblasting on the hinge block and gas block journals only. Looking forward to putting this one together.

Mine showed up @ work today on the tracking #'s, but it was nowhere to be found. The signator on the tracking let me know I was being toyed with, a little checking around found the hidden box!
One big box with two smaller boxes inside like the previous posters! Wood was much greasier than the first one I got, but not dented or damaged in any way. It was wrapped in a brown paper with white stuff blooming out of the metal on the top handguard, which is blueing salts that wipe off with no damage to anything! It all looks GTG, greasy from a Serbian factory & ready to be built!
The trunion will not start on the barrel, so that is good. The RSB slides up to the journel & stops so that is good. The front sight base/gasblock slides on the barrel to the hilt, which is not good, since the hot gasses need 0.001 0r 0.002 interference fit with the barrel for a good seal & a rigid lock on the barrel. Knurling this part is not an option in my book, too much of a chance of gas leakage & erosion, or movement of the FSB/GB! I am too tired tonight to worry about it, so tomorrow after work, I will mic the parts & compare them with another kit I have or call Atlantic about other options!

FloridaAKM, let us know what you discover. My micrometer broke so I can't tale measurements. I did notice the hinge block and gas block both have 2 scribed into them. I recall that meant something but I forget?!

That sucks that they just slipped right on. Mine were perfect with a .0024" press fit for both the FSB and RHB. The chamber end was the only thing that needed to be turned down slightly. Although mine is an M92 kit.

My parts also had a "2" electropenciled on them.

I checked my Atlantic Firearms M85 kit & all barrel parts are GTG EXCEPT the FSB/GB. It is 0.0015 larger than the barrel journel; so it spins on the journel! Another M85 kit I have has the FSB/GB with the same exact dimensions, but it's US barrel is 0.0015 larger @ that journel......so the parts will press fit perfectly. Seems I have to call Atlantic Firearms Monday as it is too late today! Good luck with your kits guys!

My GB was about .0005 to .0010 larger than the barrel journal.

Do you mean that your barrel journel was that much smaller than the FSB/GB size as mine was? This is a problem for us home builders as you can't grow the barrel to make the FSB/GB an interference fit to lock it on while pressing it in place, for gas purposes & rigidity!

Yes, the barrel journal is too small.

We just got word of this late this week and will be checking out the barrels and M85 front gas blocks on Monday. We also had some of the M85 ktis built up and have a call in to the gunsmith to see if they ran into any issues .
