Way too much IMO. Maybe with Veprs no longer being imported, people think they got to get a Russian AK right away.

There is a rear converted RWC two hours from me for $550. Been sitting on the shelf for months. Has the wrong bullet guide. Id get it but I already have one. They are sweet shooters no doubt, but thats an absurd price. Good for they guy selling it. Makes me think about making some $$ if saps are going to pay it.

Guy probably has all the parts lined up to do a full conversion eating away at him, and just wanted the rifle now, no matter the cost. I know I've felt that way before and it's led to buying less than stellar deals.

I remember seeing them at gun shows with $199 price tags.

Back then, I had no idea they could be converted so I scoffed at that price wondering why anyone would pay that much when a WASR was $235.

Because of 2 simple reasons.

#1. Molot was just banned, so the "Gotta have a Russian" heatwave is amping up value in the market.......

#2. Someone wanted it bad enough to bid on it , against someone else who also wanted it bad enough.

KrazyUkrainian just sold 2 fully converted SAIGA's he did for $1900 and $2100.

Supply and Demand (#2).......demand is forcing it

He didn't pay too much, but he might have paid too soon.

I've heard "too high" and "fool" for just about every import rifle or kit over the years and by today's prices they ALL were good investments. Some of you will smarten up, and others will spend most of their time on the bench, balking the players.

That price will be common on those rifles, and eventually low. Mark my words.

^^^ This man is right.

True preban, ie pre 94 rifles, will probably increase in value as well.

Crazy.

For that price or a bit more I'd just buy a fully converted SGL.

Then again, with Molot being banned, it must have spooked the sheep to buy anything Russian while they can.

Give it a few months....

Old, out of date prices in a bygone era have absolutely NO IMPACT/MEANING on today's supply and demand (which creates a transaction price).

Stuck in a rut with outdated information characterizes the majority of posters lamenting their lack of making a purchase in the past when prices were lower.

Forget the past prices - they have absolutely no meaning on today's market place for no longer importable Russian firearms!

Obviously this is easier said than done.

The days where WASRs were trash and you could reasonably pass on a Mak90 for $450? Yuck.
