Default 80% receiver question

Been looking at the Childers 80% receivers .
In all my builds over the years I always used
a complete receiver shell, so my question is,
Does the ATF require a serial No on the
receiver ,or is the number on the barrel trunnion
enough. thanks for your input...

No, ATF doesn't require a SN on any gun you build, whether it has a SN elsewhere or not.

It does if you sell it.

ATF does not require anything on a home build.. some states do.. look into your individual state law

He can sell it without a SN, legally.

He just canít be in the business of selling firearms without a license.

Sorry, but no serial is required on guns built for personal use, regardless of the situation.

Serial-less home builds may be transferred to any legal recipient.

Can we please stop spreading this FUD?

Home builds are just property and are treated as property.

Sell, give away, trade or inherited would be a transfer of ownership.

It is just like any other firearm.

If it didn't require a serial number while you were living, it doesn't require one when you are gone.
