Got this today (haven't blocked their spam yet):

We here at HMG® know it has been a couple months since our last update. We apologize for that but know this, it is not because we have forgotten about you but that we have been very busy preparing to send our first run of StGs out the door. As many of you know, all we are lacking are our magazines and we are just as eager to see and hold them as y’all are. We are in touch with our supplier on almost a daily basis and are constantly on the lookout for updates and any good news. We know that many of y’all have been with us since day one and we would like to thank you for your continued support and more importantly, your continued patience throughout this process. I can assure you, it will be rewarded!

We would also like to take this opportunity to let you know that we have been transitioning most of our updates to Facebook. This allows us to reach a broader audience and offers more customization as to what we are able to provide to y’all. Along with our weekly posts on Facebook, we have been doing Livestreams every other Friday at 3:30 EST. We feel as though we are able to engage you on a more personal level and actually have conversations with you “face to face” through them. We would like to invite all of you that haven’t found DeWay to join us during our next Livestream and check-in with a comment or question. Let us know how you’re doing, what your biggest concerns are, what your favorite Chick-fil-A sauce is or that we should make a civilian version of the L85 (you know who you are). Also, while you are on our page, feel free to check out our past posts and Livestreams if you haven’t already. Let Zark Muckerberg guide you on this amazing journey towards an StG!

Just in case you have been in a cave for the past 15 years, here is a link to our Facebook page:

http://www.facebook.com/HMGunworks/

Thanks again for all your support and we’ll see you on the Book of Faces soon!

-The HMG® Crew

I especially like the part about cuckerberg guiding you on your journey towards an StG...Goebbels would be proud of their propaganda machine, they got that part of the Nazi history right. Sturmgewehr production, not so much.

I always try and be honest, straight forward with you all and the net in general.

So in that spirit and in the interest of fairness I am posting this.

HMG finished my CETME Mod L this week.

Glad you got it back Misha! I was reading through the comments on their FB update earlier. Some have said these STG's will go for 3-4x the current asking price on GB because of demand. They've seriously been chugging the Kool aid if they truly believe that. Haha!!

Ordered some 30 rd mags, bipod, and a bayonet for the Mod. L from Apex today.

Of course a video or two will be foreth coming on this rifle.
Will be interesting to see how it does compared to say the HK93/C93/V93.

Goes without saying, no word on any STG44 stuff from HMG.

Why they didn't just focus on doing obscur/interesting kit builds like with this CETME i don't know?
Seems like that would have been a good market nych for them?

But what do I know? I've only been running a gun business for a decade and turning a profit the whole time....including doing batches of semi auto British Lanchesters and Stens, Polish PPS43/52 carbines, Swedish M45 'K's, Italian MAB 38s, various FALs and AKs, and most recently contracted to have some SA-26 semis built up.
So yeah....what do i know about small scale production & marketing lol.

At this point it’s more likely to get a time machine and go get one off of the Erfurt assembly line.

Anytime anyone complains on their Facebook their group of brown nosing groupies are quick to say how they'd rather wait for a perfect product(because the world revolves around them and nobody dare have a bad opinion of the company).

It's been said many times before but anyone who still has preorder money into these is an idiot. Is risking your money really worth being a few months ahead of others? If they ever actually produce these they will be available it's not a once in a lifetime thing.

Or do what I did and stop waiting and just save up for as close to the real deal as you can get by finding a ptr44.

Steve, is there something you'd like to share with the group?
This is a 'safe space' here in the circle.

Unless HMG actually brings out some product this thread is now useless. I think most have lost interest, I know I have.

BTW to hell with Facebook.... they hate Gun People.

Nope, just my opinion as to the mentality of those who still defend the company vis a vis the STG44 project.

Whatever else HMG might be good at and rightfully deserve compliments on, they simply screwed the pooch on the STG44.

Their still running the mag excuse since like November of 2017..... and still no photos of all these fully assembled rifles ready to go, lets just make our customers wait indefinitely instead of shipping the rifles now and mags later, It would be the absolute least they could do after this entire carrot on a stick time vampire.

They have no product, hope you got your pre order money back while you could.

I believe the MarColMar CETME Model L, LV & LC will be awesome guns!
I wonder when they will become available for purchase?

SMG in Texas is also working on the manufacture of the Type1 FG-42.
The Type 2's they build are really nice.

So much for a couple of guys sitting around a table drinking a few cold ones.

Hey Joe, it would be cool to make a StG-44 copy.

Yeah, Mike! I bet we can do that in our garage in a couple of months.

Mike to Joe: Well....get on the internet and advertise the hell of this and tell people we will be selling StG-44s in a few weeks.

Joe to Mike: I bet we can even sucker them into "prepaying."

A few years later........SILENCE.

Mike to Joe: Damn this is turning out to be MUCH MORE complicated than it seemed when we were drinking all those cold ones back in the day.

And so the soap opera continues to this very day.

That's because a lot of people don't know WTF they're doing. You might be able to home build a few guns, even set up a small scale boutique business selling a few batches here and there that will grow someday into a big one.

But most people haven't the first clue about running a small business let alone a big one. There's a reason they have specialists who take a prototype and refine it for mass production, it's a way different ballgame than making a few in your garage and if you don't know what you're doing or hire someone who does it's gonna be a bad time.

Plenty of small businesses go under because they can't turn a hobby or passion into a realistic plan, and/or they have no idea how to handle finances. This is why you don't pre-order shit from an outfit that hasn't had an established history of success; you are literally gambling that they can figure shit out when most people can't.

So these people who have no idea what they're doing from a business or large scale perspective go out and think it's as simple as a prototype and then just cash flow and all their dreams will come true so they come hype the hell out of it thinking pre-orders will fund everything. Then we get to see a comedy of a few dudes who get in over their heads trying to figure out all the problems that established industry leaders do for a living, and wondering why everyone's mad.

Lots of folks are geniuses at the technical stuff, but can't ever get the business side figured out. Tesla and Edison come right to mind, everyone trash talks Edison, but he knew business and how to get shit off the ground.

If I understand this correctly, they made a bigger mag well so other mags with 556 and 762x39 would fit in ...

... so essentially they fucked up original mag 33Kurz to make a larger mag which will still shoot the same round, but it's bigger and more expensive ... and you still can't buy it

I just hope someone writes a comedy about this. The total dumbassery is just astounding.

At this point the return of the 3rd Reich is more likely than the HMG monster.

I was at the counter talking to an HMG person about the CETME Model L builds (he related that he hated building them, too much work) when a YouTube interviewer came over and asked about the STG-44. The HMG person jumped at the chance to be recorded and started excitedly explaining all the details and features... and then he sliced open his hand on a sharp bit of sheet metal! It started bleeding really heavily and another HMG person steered our wounded rep away and sat him down. I thought he was going to pass out! The interviewer stopped recording until the blood was wiped up and another HMG rep could take over. I suspect that some editing of that video occurred!
