Is that a bad thing? I am not familiar with magnetic vs non-magnetic rounds.

It only says that 4 times on the page, if someone misses that I wouldn't want to shoot with them..

It means they have steel in the core and some ranges do not allow steel core ammo as it tears up their backstops. They typically will inspect your ammo by taking a magnet to it and if it sticks, you don't get to shoot it there.

The jacket attracts the magnet, it is not steel core

Ok, never had that come up at my range. I didn't know that was a thing... Lol. Thanks for the info.

Dude, no.

The jacket is bimetal. Not to mention the case is steel. Both of those will attract a magnet.

The core is lead.

If you use the code “MAC” at Freedom Munitions, it will take 6% off.

And as others have said, it’s not steel core. Just check the rules for your local range range to make sure they allow bi-metal jacketed ammo. Both indoor ranges I shoot at allow it, and it says so on their websites:

Range #1:
“Use only the correct ammunition designated for your firearm. Armor-piercing/steel core and tracer ammunition is specifically prohibited. ESS staff understands the difference between steel jacketed and steel core. As a user of our facility, you are expected to have the same understanding.”

Range #2:
“Tracer, armor piercing, steel core, or any types of incendiary ammunition are prohibited.”

This is the poly TCW stuff not the rebranded GT stuff.

Still a good deal.

How are you getting it for $0.19 a round shipped? It's charging me $20 to ship 20 boxes to NC.

Actually, Iím not sure it is. I know thatís what the picture shows and the description says, but itís labeled as 124 grain. I thought the poly coated stuff was 122 grain? And they also have the 122 grain on their sight, although itís out of stock: https://www.freedommunitions.com/amm...-20ct-box.html

I might be wrong, but like you said, itís good deal either way.

Their whole site is free shipping on orders over $99 right now. And I just checked it with NC zip code 28376, and the shipping was free...

No problem. Although I did feel a little stalkerish when I googled the zip code for Raeford, NC just to be sure, lol.

Pretty sure the free shipping is a default right now--no code needed. Not a great deal for us as we pay sales tax (Idaho and Texas).

I have never used RAS ammo. I hope it’s as good as everything else.

It's a mixed bag. Some of the varieties just plain suck (weak FPS, inconsistent accuracy, spotty QC, etc.), but the 124-grain lacquered & sealed stuff advertised here has been great for me. Vympel made and same as Golden Tiger.

SOG still has 7.62x39 for .18 cents shipped, they add shipping after ordering though, and they want Proof of age if you don't have a FFL on file.

The order total has to be over $100 and then it's free shipping.

I should have stayed out of this thread because I just ordered another 600 rounds.

Based on bullet weight (124 grain), the Red Army Standard on Freedom should be the lacquered and sealed boat tail ammo, made by Vympel. Same ammo as Golden Tiger.
