What do you suppose their cost is on these? $3? Maybe $5?

Are the 60 round AK-74 coffin mags reliable?

EDIT: I'll answer my own question. The consensus seems to be long-term durability concerns over the lack of steel locking lug and feed lip reinforcements. I don't think anyone has tested it enough to know if it has the same feed problems as the Surefires after being shaken or dropped when partially loaded.

On topic, I'm glad I got some tankers in original pouches from, I think Centerfire Systems, back in the day. They're nice for benchresting.

With almost 5,000 of these flooding the market, and with other vendors perhaps also getting just as many or more from whatever cargo container unloaded these this week, I guess it's sad trombone time for the MP sellers for the time being. While $19.95 isn't cheap, the MP and other vendors have been running these for at least 50% higher for months. Glad to see the bottom fall out for now. The high prices will be back soon enough.

Ive got no problems with someone asking $30 for their Hungarian tanker are they worth that much, to me no but maybe they are to someone else. $20 per mag seems about the right price. The days of $5 tanker mags is gone and will never be back due to the increased popularity of the ak and how well known the tanker mag has become .

Agree 100%. Before a couple hours ago, the going rate was $30. That was the what the market would bear. And it'll be there again soon enough. But for now, the $20 price is good enough for me to pick up a few more.

you cant compare $19.95 for 10 ore more to one guy selling a single mag for $30 shipped......here a single mag is $24.95 plus shipping, actually comes out to be more.

If you are ordering a bunch, then obv there is a benefit

At the importer level $1-$2, maybe near scrap weight if they got a good deal.

This is when I really really hate the fact that I live 15 minutes from them. I want more but hate having to pay sales taxes.

My work hours at least make it so I now can rarely get over to the shop to buy things in person. So why not grab 15 of these and paying shipping and taxes.

Still a damn good price.

Love these. Got the email from AIM this afternoon and immediately added 5 more to my stock of a dozen or so. These are the best range mags.

Just ordered 4. They'll do nicely for my M92, AMD 63 Frankenrifle or WASR10/63.

can I ask what makes these so special and high priced? I have some Hungarian FEG 30 rounders, and while nice mags, aren't any different than my polish or Romanian mags and were only $12 each too. Am I missing something here?

They are compact and work great for side folder or underfolder or SBR.

oh I knew they were 20 rounders, I was just wondering why they were double or triple the price of the 30 rounders.

and that makes begrudging sense. scarcity.

Easier for bench shooting. My setup makes 30-rounders either a no-go or a huge PITA when shooting that way.

Triple the cost ? Not even double actually. Most surplus mags in the same condition sell for at least $12 these days.
But more importantly is the perceived reliability. They are mil spec 20 round mags. Some commercial options might be cheaper but they were not made for war. The buyer of said mags is always left wondering if they are good to go or just cheep Asian made crap for the US consumer market.

sorry, I was basing the "triple" with the $34.95 price I'd been seeing lately when the 30s were $12... this is a much better price comparatively at $20 (but have to buy like 5)

Got my 15 in today. 14 of the 15 have great stamps and 6 of them have the man on the moon stamp. Half of them seem to be clean of cosmo, the other half are dripping in it.

Probably not. My order was $15-something to ship. Tax on pickup would've been $18-something.

I opted to pay both. $12 to ship it 15 miles and $21 in taxes. I wouldn't have a chance to get them in person until the 28th. If they still have some then I will get another 15 in person. I have over a hundred Tankers now so might as well go for two hundred.
