Default Going rate for NIB "SKS-D"

I've been holding onto this one for years upon years, but looking into current values to make a call as to its future.
She takes AK mags of course and is as new as a 30 year old gun can get.
What do ya'll think it would bring?
Nicest wood I've seen on an SKS and note the 3 mags as well.

HaHa. She's not for sale currently, I'm just thinking about it.
Truly just looking for a real number of what it would bring. I'd just keep it if it's only $600, but not sure.

add 100$ for the original box. and 200 for A+ condition.

I sold mine for 650 on gunborker in Good condition. years ago

then there's you mags...and bayo lug.

subtract 550$ for missing cleaning rod though

HA!
I think the cleaning rod is in the slot with the bayo, see the picture? But I'm not going to dig it out to check right now!

I bought a SKS M couple of weeks ago. Looks just like yours except no bayo. NIB for $650.00. A Backpage deal.

Ds are less common than Ms. They are also referred to as "SKS 30" on the other files instead of D, since D is an unofficial name and SKS 30 has been accepted as an official designation.

I know that the SKS D is harder to find but I never heard it called SKS 30 before. Interesting. The ones I've followed on GB always go for more than I'm willing to pay.

Yeah, they explain it here http://sks-files.com/index.php?topic=2866.0 but sadly, photofucked.
It turns out the "SKS-D" is actually a regular SKS converted to AK mag by Midwest Ordinance while the SKS 30 (what everybody calls the SKS-D) was new production from China.

Looks like the twin of mine. Bought it as a "panic" buy just before the great Clinton AWB went into effect. Still have the box, but the rifle is no longer "new" as I have enjoyed shooting it. More accurate than any AK or other SKS I own.

Heard about the conversions, but I have always heard the Chinese ones called "D"s as well. Makes sense what you say though.

That's a great link, thanks!
Looks like I have an SKS-30 then.
I knew SKS-D wasn't a certain name for my rifle, but glad someone took the time to research it that well.

Likely a Beta Arms import. I've been looking for a mint one myself. I think you could get 8-900 easy as long as its truly NIB and the stock is mint

Yep, just had a closer look and it is Beta Arms.
Cleaning rod is there as well as the kit in the stock.
There is also a 3" long steel pin/rod in the box as well. It has a larger diameter side and a smaller side that is milled to be square on the end. Sight adjustment tool maybe?

Thanks again everyone, I'm glad to have an idea of its value.

Great post. I have two NIB guns from CSI in my collection. I will have to check the labels and manuals and see how they are marked per that link

Around $700 is the going rate, but with the original box and condition of everything a collector would go higher.

I'd like to find a reasonably priced, used SKS-M to hunt the brush with and use as a truck gun.

How many exist in the box like that? If unfired from the distributor, to me it's a 1000 dollar rifle all day long. You just don't see them in this condition and that's why the grand is a sound value to me - I can find USED ones for 650 maybe 800 - NOT this one, though.

And what's a thousand dollars anymore when it comes to guns? They will not get any cheaper. Well, ARs maybe - modern stuff - but this one is one no longer made or imported.

I can earn more money, but I will rarely see these guns like this condition-wise.

And the AK-Mag SKS's rock with the Hungarian Tanker mags. The weight and handling are great for the design of the SKS. You just have to have 30's - get a WASR or something.
