Default Cherrys Yugo M59/66 sks rifles

I have a Cherrys import Yugo M59/66 sks rifle that looks unfired and in pristine condition. Very nice wood stock too. It's intact with flash hider, grenade sight and blade bayonet. It's been a safe queen, so it needs to go. Would an asking price of $450 be out of line for a very very nice sks? I tried to upload pics, but unsuccessful. Thanks, SB

No. You will be selling it very quickly. You are leaving money on the table.

I think it's priced about right if you actually want the thing to move. Just too many 59/66's available in general.

Took me forever to sell mine and I did not feel like I got anything extra for it in the end. Mine was still in the box covered in cosmoline. Best thing you can do is hold on and enjoy it.

Being in Texas you might be able to wiggle a couple more bucks out of it. I think it todays market $450 is the right price because the market is soft. If you ever wanted to purchase that same rifle you'd probably have to pay more and search gunbroker etc.

A couple years ago I purchased a Samco Yugo for $380 which was about $50 less than what it was worth or what it would cost to buy from the distributer (samco). Just happened to be 10 minutes from my house at the time and the guy wasn't getting any bites on armslist.

$450 is right in line with the current market (data here). Some collectors will see value in the importer stamp and may go a little higher. Log books also add some value to a collector.

^^^^X2

I had a self proclaimed “AR guy” shoot mine one day. When he picked up the SKS you could almost see the “ewww” on his face. Then he shot it and was shocked. He was ringing steel at about 150 yards with open sights. He turned and looked at me in disbelief saying “holy shit, you got this thing dialed in!”

I have had several SKS variants. The Yugo M59/66 was definitely the most accurate.
